So, at the Vegas SX this year me and all my friends put our names in a drawing to win a black Corvette. Well I got a call today from the Luxor hotel not saying that I won the Corvette(BUMMER) but that I had been drawn to win a 4 day 3 Night stay free of charge at the Luxor(same place we stayed this year). Needless to say I am stoked and now have my reservations booked for the 2012 SX Finals on May 5th :-)

I got one of those calls last Sunday night, only I DID win the car from a church festival! Woohoo 2012 Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500! Sticker on it is 56k. It's even signed by Carroll Shelby. It looks like this only has nicer wheels. It is a freaking beast! Evil

And, you don't have to actually sit through a 'presentation' of any kind?

That's usually the kicker for a free stay at a casino. You're required to hear a sales pitch (with your spouse with you) of some kind of time share offer for one of the properties they're affiliated with.

I won a 2004 CRF250 in a raffle at a motocross track (back in 2004). Sold it for $5600.

Yeah, they get entries from all over the country. The last 3 winners were from Kentucky, Tennesee, and Ohio. From what I was told the church clears over 100k almost every year. The tickets were only $10 and I only bought 1 because I haven't worked all year.The local Mustang club president told me all of their members buy between10 and 50 tickets each year. The church rep said they get people that buy a few hundred tix each year. The church even paid the taxes and registration for me!!! A few of the local motorheads told me Shelby's sig adds between 5 and 10 k to the value of the car! First thing of real value I've ever won.

Onetrack236.........that is awesome you won that as well! Really nice , as it sounds like they let you pick the weekend you wanted to stay there to. Pretty sweet deal!

unless you're stronger willed than most people, that free stay, valued at $500, is going to wind up costing you! lol you wont even know pressure until you say no. Also, dont flake on the presentation and bail out, you will get a nice bill when you check out, or miss some crucial check out code and be charged the full amount of the stay.

Last time I heard of someone going to one of these, they had to book the room on their own card, ect. In the fine print, it said their stay would be complimentary if they enrolled in the program ect. They said no for 20 minutes, finally just walked out, went to check out 2 days later, do you want the charges left on your card? We got a free...sit thru a presentaion...oh, ok, whats your check out code so the room is comp'ed.... facepalm.
