Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
Edit: I also thought Sx only contracts would become more common and it would turn the sport into MX riders and SX riders, and split the competition.
Congrats to RD5 for his new ride and reuniting with DeCoster. Hope to hear something
on the JS7 side soon. Go RV1
(In 98 he got hurt and was out for the rest of the outdoor season, so I count this as his 10th year)
In 99 & 2000 he did some selected outdoors if I'm not mistaken (semi sx only, but not 100% SX only).
2001 & 2002 he went SX only....
(In 2003 the night before A1 he retired.
But still raced a little....)
He was the most successful racer the sport had ever seen in a sense....
A lot of people/fans felt he earned the right to do SX only.
But there were some fans let down....
But nothing like we see with James these days, calling him out or what not.
But some people forget,Reed got bashed also when he went SX only.

If you really don't know, why guess... Most things should be left alone... especially contract speculation, maybe there is a reason why you aren't included in the negotiation process...
BMan-
I dont think there is a lot to question there....
People showing up at the Red Bull 2010 MXoN's.....why isn't James Stewart racing?
James is Red Bull's #1 guy in MX/SX here in the USA as far as they (Red Bull) are concerned I would assume.
Red Bull was obviously the title sponsor of the 2010 MXoN's and it was being held here in the States.
With that said,Red Bull obviously wanted their #1 guy on Team USA competing in the Red Bull MxoN's .
James & company claimed they were told he would be considered for a spot on Team USA after doing the last 4 nationals if he did well. James & company showed up at Dilla and was told the Team was being announced that day and the Team was RD,AS,TC.He went out gave it one good moto for the fans, pulled off the 2nd moto after not getting a great start, and the team pulled the plug on the entire thing. The team wasn't going to do the last 4 nationals if there was no reason to do them.
They weren't in any title hunt etc....so I guess they looked at it like they had nothing to gain by doing them.
I'm sure Red Bull were possibly the ones financing that venture...just to get him on the team (L&M doesn't do the nationals.)
That is the way I seen that whole deal, anyway.
Rumors keep on coming James wants out of his contract with Yamaha. Is it a fact? Maybe not yet, but James or his people have done nothing to squash the rumors.
James is pretty big on Twitter, and he hasn't done anything to quiet any of this down. Wonder why?
Your self worth is only as good as your word, and latley James' words don't mean a whole of alot.
Btw, I'm a huge James fan, so this isn't a bash him type post, but I call it like I see it.
What makes you think Yamaha wants to keep him....especially with the whole L&M thing that fell apart (contracts go both ways last I checked)?
For some reason James brought in his own guy and Mike sent LarryB packing.
Larry had very close ties with Yamaha I assume, where were they in all this?
The decision may be mutual on both sides if JS7 & Yamaha part ways for good.
Also...things take time to get resolved.
He isn't gonna say a word about it and for good reasons.
If there is something legally going with L&M and him....and that doesn't necessarily mean that L&M is pursuing legal action against him.Could be him pursuing them for unpaid money or what not, something big is still NOT resolved there (The Casino also pulled out). Those type of details never get out and when they go to arbitration they are told by their lawyers not to talk about it and that includes the judgment/resolution also .
As for James word...he can only say so much and try to make things happen.
And sometimes when he cant make something happen,it is out of his control.
But in a sense it still comes back all on him and he is responsible.
More sponsors,more contracts,more money,more fans,more PROBLEMS.
Doubt it. If they both wanted out, it would of been done by now. Guessing Yamaha wants him, but he wants out, just seems to make more sense.
Also...things take time to get resolved.
It's been 5 months since sx, how much more time can it take? Both Yamaha and James need to figure it out sooner than later.
He isn't gonna say a word about it and for good reasons
Huh? So James tweting that the new Yamaha is going to come with black rims is agood thing? What good does it do to tweet that? How is that good for either side?

If both sides really wanted out, it woiuldn't take 5 months.

In my opinion he would be better to not say a damn thing. He just sets himself up for the abuse he gets. Saying he is in for the Monster race? Saying he is going to race some nationals, "for the fans," and then not show up to one of em? If he is going to run his mouth like that, he needs to back it up. He has plenty of cash, if he wanted to race the outdoors he could of made it happen. Reed pulled shit together pretty quickly and built a whole race team in a matter of weeks, surely James has as many contacts as Chad does. If James didn't want to race the outdoors, he needs to be honest with his fans and himself.
Will see wher it all ends up, I think we all agree, the racing is better when James is on the line.
Anything is possible....
But,where was Yamaha in the whole L&M saga?
Why did James have to bring his own guy in and pay out of his own pocket then (Sergio)?
Sounds to me like they took a big step back (engineering wise)....maybe that is why James wants to be done with them,if that is indeed the case. Or they just flat out dont want to work with him.
It's been 5 months since sx, how much more time can it take? Both Yamaha and James need to figure it out sooner than later.
The L&M thing didn't fall apart til a month ago or so from my understanding.
Actually after the outdoors ended.BobbyM posted on here that the casino was done with James/L&M.
Next thing we knew a few weeks later or so..Mike from L&M was saying him & James,Yamaha,The Casino were done.
Huh? So James tweting that the new Yamaha is going to come with black rims is agood thing? What good does it do to tweet that? How is that good for either side?
He isn't going to say anything about what is going on about any contract disputes if there are any.
If both sides really wanted out, it wouldn't take 5 months.
HUh? The L&M thing didn't fall apart til recently from my understanding, with the casino etc...

Do you not understand he (James) has personal sponsors which he has obligations with? With those personal sponsors/contracts comes agreement's of things he can do and cant do. Pastrana had them MC had them, they are nothing new. And if he wants to race and the sponsors do not want to allow him or give him approval or even support it could keep him from doing it (he was contracted for SX only)(seen it happen before). When you involve his personal sponsors, team contract ,etc..things become much more difficult, then loading up a bike and going racing.I bet if James wanted to go race a local race somewhere in Florida this weekend...he couldn't without approval.
And the monster cup thing he was in for it back before things fell apart with L&M recently.I think the PR was sent out in June or July.Obviously a lot has changed since then.
Like I said before...more problems.
A guy like Stewart get his jollies from driving his Lambo or Audi to and from his parents house to train. It's not like he's taking it down to the club.
JS7 isn't like one of the retard rappers on TV, he understands his window of peak performance and he realizes he has to stick to his program if he wants to drive a Lambo for the rest of his life.
Pit Row
1. pouts by putting around the track in 9th place, thus further ruining his marketability
2. announces his retirement
He doesn't have to be on factory equipment, in fact at the start of this year Reed wasn't. I'm sure, that just like Reed, if James were to build his own bike and team, put up results, and get some wins the factories would quickly rush to his aid with better equipment. Why wouldn't they?
By building his own team and picking his equipment, there would honestly be no pointing fingers. It would be his deal and there shouldn't be any trouble getting his sponsers on board. Now the flip side of this situation is the money, which he would undoubtably lose.
I don't see this happening but if it did, I think his problems with getting on other teams, etc, etc.... would be solved. JMO
Flame on....
To me, it was pretty obvious in '97 that he was fulfilling contracts by riding outdoors. He was on a crappy bike and all the passion and drive to win outdoors was gone (IMO).
I think Dave's drama over MC going SX only versus Stewart is off track. Simply not the same circumstances. Neither MC nor Reed surround themselves with the same kind of drama as James does. He provokes intense emotions both positive and negative.
All that said, I think a professional should do what they want to do and can get a contract to do. James has every right to go SX only or retire. But, he does toy with the fans rather than be direct and stay on message. That has not helped in regards to the negativity he gets.
