As primary residence because that's what they can afford....talking about renters.

Anyone know of anyone?

Cole Seely grew up in an apartment as an amateur. They kept their bike in the living room.

Name me the motorsport that people below the poverty line should be engaging in? Chances are if you're nearly broke you don't have health insurance, why is it a good idea to go ride?

Why does it have to be because he is broke? Could be because he IS playing it smart and he DOES have health insurance as well as a bike payment and a truck payment to get him out to the track and gas and parts and entry fee and everything else that comes with motocross. Then after all is said and done an apartment is a much more feasible option.

maybe with all the traveling racers do its more practical to not have the upkeep of a house waiting on you when you get back

Wow, you people thinking anyone in an apartment is broke don't live in New England area... Here you can buy a $400,000 house in the greater Boston area and it is a total pile of shit. Want a nice house? O ok, 800K or up will get you something sweet.

Makes sense to me. In my mid 20's I was single without a care in the world and I was making about $175k/yr living in SoCal. I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment in a complex. I traveled way too much so I was never home. My tax guy told me I had to buy a house because I was getting crushed but I didn't care. I wanted the flexibility to come and go as I please and never worry about anything except spoiled milk. As it turns out, not buying a house was a great idea because that was back in 2000-01. Everything I would have saved in taxes I would have lost when the market crashed. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

I have qualified for LL several times and I lived in an apartment for a few months when I first moved out. I didnt go to LL
the year I lived in the apartment, but I didnt try either I was trying to do outdoors at that time. I raced sx and outdoors while
living in an apartment tho if that counts. Now I have my own house, a ton of bills, very good health insurance, and yes I still
race every weekend and make a few sx and outdoors when I can afford it.

better yet who cares?

and racing without health insurance, gee ever try to buy health insurance then or now and tell them the truth that you ride or race an off road motorcycle LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

it's either priced so far in the stratusphere or they simply say "no it doesn't work for you"

been there done that.

the sport is exspensive no question. more then some less then others. people who drag themselves all over the country racing to "make" it is funny. if you can't make it close to home, likely you will get spanked when you get there, stay home and improve your abilities.................or better yet race your local races all year for the few trips that cost the money it does.

just sayin/

I don't know where you live in CT but that's pretty much how the pricing is around here as well.
I live out in the country and you can't touch anything livable for under $250 K

Ya, that's true it definitely varies by area but even a 50 mile radius of Boston is quite different than say Georgia. Greater NYC area is the same obviously and even where my sis lives in Stamford, CT the places are very expensive.

The smartest thing you could have done/and do with your income would have been to rent instead of buy a primary resident dwelling. But that wouldn't be your belittling point now would it mr.novice?

Good point. Upkeep on a house with a nice yard and maybe a pool is a pain in the ass - some people enjoy it though (not me).

Actually a rather good question, and I have wondered this myself. I have lived on my own since 17, (graduated early), owned my own house & now live in an apt. Granted my divorce didn't help, but I find it cheaper to live in an apt, & enjoy my earnings with my kids easier. We go racing every weekend, have several bikes, & have top of the line everything. A lot of other "mini parents" I regularly spend time with live in either low cost apts, or even with a parent.
