OK, no bashing, no whining please.
I am just curious if someone in the know can share some information about the size of team USA.

I was at a lot of MXoNs the last years, and something that pretty amazing to me is how big team USA is.
I mean big in the number of poeple running around in team USA clothing.

Other big MX-Nations like France, Belgium or Great Britain also have some guys running around, but nowhere the amount of team USA.

I mean ok, you need a manager, a mechanic for each rider, and a couple of others to organize stuff.
But what do all these people on team USA do? I think (and that is just a guess) that at least 20 people are running around in the pits with team USA clothes on.

Anyone on here knows what they are all doing on the team?

Again, thats no bashing, i am really just curios.

Winning! And that is not intended to be a smart ass remark. If 20 or so people are what it takes for us to Win then that is what we use. Maybe the other teams need a little more help.

A lot of those people in the Team USA jackets are not there in a technical role, they are the family, friends, agents, etc. of the riders.

I'm sure not all of them were playing a key role in the actual racing but support goes a long way. I saw some agents and gear reps in the mix. Probably quite a few family members there wearing the colors. Of course there were probably some hanger on's, but who here wouldn't want to be there? What a cool event. Too bad the bellyaching afterwards goes on for days...

Masta , I think maybe our team may "look" bigger because we all travel from across the water and probably have team shirts and so forth/. Where as A team like France , probably had a bunch of people "Behind the scenes" maybe? Maybe people who weren't actually dressed in team attire or something? That's about the best reason I can come up with. But I know a lot of the sponsors who show up , like Monster and so forth are possibly wearing team USA stuff to. They might not of all be actual "team" people. Oh also , what Grapeape and Newmann said as well with family and friends.

Team USA once again shows that it IS possible to get 184 people (130 that didnt do anything to help) onto a podium built for 20.

There are often behind-the-scenes component suppliers in the mix there, too. But yeah, a lot of family, etc.
