Even more than rider fanboizism

I dont get bike manufacturer fanboiz!

The more dirt bike brands the better. yes or no?

Unless they pay me I'm bike hoe,

I'll ride anything anytime anywhere
I agree, the more brands the better. I think the Gasgas is butt ugly, but it sure has some nice ideas put in which makes it very interesting Smile

The most common story I hear from 300 riders is, they eventually tore them down for no reason other than curiousity. Teardowns and good thorough measurements on bikes that, by all rights, should be roached into the ground, comtinue to blow the minds o the owners....especially considering te fact that they can win races. Profit from replacement parts might not exactly be a very good place for dealers to try to gain cash-flow.

Urban legend has it, they took the name Gas Gas because they wanted to enter the market hard and hot, with all the finesse of a subtle sllp in the face with a fresh halibut. They tiij no prisioners in trials, and EVERYBODY remembers the name.

Anyone have a link to the video of the two gas-gas dual sports riding through downtown NYC? It was posted here a couple years ago.

I have been selling them for a year now along with KTM. Nice bikes, I race a 300 Six Days myself and have raced it with success. I can't keep KTM 300's long enough to ride one so I have the Gasser. 2 Strokes are selling really well.

And probably it is just because it is Spain and of course Gasgas is a spanish brand but they are way cheaper than KTM or the Japaneese (ktm here is not more expensive than Yamaha or Honda)

I'm on my 3rd GasGas and the only complaint s you will get from me are the older rim locks that we swapped out for motion pro's and the aluminum clutch plates in the 125's. Just swap them for steel units and you have a 5 year clutch. You would be hard pressed to say that for any Japanese dirt bike clutch. I don't remember any parts "falling off" either. By far the least parts hungry dirt bikes I have ever owned and the come from the factory with all the high end parts that everyone runs out to buy for their Japanese bikes to "make them work" right down to the exhaust. So GasGas owners get to spend their money on riding instead of aftermarket. sounds like a good formula to me. If it wasn't for the fact that I just bought a new GasGas this spring, I'd be getting in line for a 2012. One thing about GasGas bikes is they ALLWAYS look way better in person than they do in pictures, so if you get the chance, check one out. Smile

rather than bitching at each other i think we should revel in the fact that there is a highly innovative 2 stroke here, even more innovative than the japanese 4 strokes. look at the fuel tank placement. i bet that bike handles like a cat on carpet and would probably weigh 199lbs in MX trim.

@Premixed

Amen, well said

@Rmpilot

I think it is for weight reduction and looks. Because the metal at those points is less stressed when subjected to bending. The same you see in some steel roof constructions

Why paint the fork tubes and swing arm, they are going to look like shit after a couple of rides.
