People don't realize that, you don't scrub speed you scrub height. If you notice that picture of me gooning it, I'm a few inches off the ground and the takeoff is out of the picture. Pretty low when you look at it height wise, yeah it looks goony but where is your scrub, peelout? I've heard you're actually pretty quick, maybe even raced Pro but as of right now that's all talk.
to satisfy your question, i don't have any pictures of me attempting to scrub. if you are doing it like the 40 guys on the line at the national, then it may help, but if you aren't then you just look silly trying. a lot of kids at the local races attempt it and it's more annoying to watch than anything. i don't race but maybe one or two times a year anymore. but even when i was racing, scrubbing was the last place i tried to make up time. i was always much better at carrying momentum in corners. i do have some pretty sweet whip pictures though, i used to be able to throw it pretty nasty

i thought i was cool to see jg scrub off the top of st helens..this scrub made sense because i think he would have flown to the bottom if he didnt scrub it or slow way down

And "yeah, it looks goony"..because, well, it is "goony".

I try and stay out of your threads, brushing off the dumb stuff because you're just a kid and all...but really, if you're going to claim you can scrub, you'd better be able to scrub.

I'm 29. At this point to go fast I'm much better off doing corners all day to go fast. Tons of kids "scrub" , they dont corner or go through rough stuff worth a damn though.

Kenny can scrub-a-dub in the tub with the best of them, last year on Suz he was going off! they were so exaggerated, this year he has calmed down and doesnt go so extreme.

To everyone talking crap about kids trying to learn how to scrub or throw a whip, you gotta remember that 1. everyone used to suck at one point, 2. you don't learn something without practicing, and 3. maybe, just maybe, some people think it's fun. You guys want everyone to ride like you ride, and care about what you care about, but that's not the reason why most of us ride. I'll take slow lines and go way outside in corners just to rail a nice berm because to me that line is just more fun and I'm not usually worried about the extra second I could pick up by going inside. Who gives a shit? Go out there and worry about your style. If someone else is riding like a goon (but not putting others at risk), what do you care how flat they can throw their bike or if it would have been quicker for them to hit a jump straight up? That's all fine and dandy, but that beginner that is learning how to get his bike to stay in a rut starts talking like he is a pro at riding ruts...then he's gonna get flamed.

Same applies here....I seem to remember DDavis, saying he can scrub better than most pros once (or something similar), never mind how he talks about it like he's got it down to a science...only to see pictures and he looks like a goon.

If you suck at something, or are just learning something....just say that, and people will help you (not ridicule you). But if you talk a big game, and then suck...you're gonna get ridiculed (including "sell your bike and quit").

Haha, we can always expect some masterful words from the infamous DDavis, but that's not who I was refering to. This thread didn't start out about him.
But yes, I agree, if you talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk. I'm just defensive because I'm the spodey C rider on the old 03 125 that's just trying to do a little better than I did on the last lap.

Well, I am not discrediting the guy has skill, but there's a video somewhere that exists of this photo school. The guy isn't hitting this jump fast. He isn't even really hitting it at race speed. He like cruises up this long hill and then kid of pops over the top at half speed. It looks good in a photo, but isn't all that practical like a Stewie/Canard/Roczen scrub.
