Here is my CR 250 that I just completed. I completed the 125 a few weeks ago and its been a blast to ride, but I am happy to get the 250 done and I'm ready to ride it again.

Mika Metals sprockets, chains, handlebars
Eric Gorr motor ( this thing rips big time!)
DT-1 super seal air filter
FMF pipe silencer (have Pro Circuit pipe and silencer as well, but prefer the FMF on this bike)
Vforce reeds
MB1 suspension
Stomp grip tape
Excel rims
Hinson complete clutch

Going racing at Hollister Hills this weekend, should be fun.

Motor was just cleaned with parts cleaner. Frame, swing arm, shock, forks are all anodized. I've been riding this bike for about 9 months, just decided to clean it up and redo the whole thing.

Very nice...........If my bike were that nice, I would be force to wear free style pants to avoid boot damage to the frame and plastic!

It looks like you have 3 of the big 4 bikes covered in that garage, you just need a pumpkin and green bike to finish things out..........

Love the non red look. Wish the factory's would drop the whole color thing and race unique looking team bikes. Funny how the sport is still stuck in the 1970's regarding the plastic color selling bikes. lol

Between my brothers and I we've owned pretty much all the bikes out there over the years. I got rid of my 09 KTM250 with 300 cylinder for the 06 Honda that had about an hour of riding on it. Might get another KTM in the future. I really like the Honda though although the motor is a bit tougher to ride.

The last gen 250 honda was weak down low and had to be reved out to scream. I had a 2001 CR 250 and that had a great motor but did not corner or handle as well as the 2006. I would love to see the 2001 motor in your frame.

Sorry, I mistook 06 for 96. I was thinking you put an older motor in a newer frame. My bad.

The motor in this was terrible stock, just a midrange hit and that was it. I have Vforce reeds, JD jet kit, Eric Gorr motor and FMF pipe and silencer and this thing absolutely rips. I've ridden a lot of 250's (even some GP250's) and this is definitely one of the fastest one's I've been on. It comes on pretty low in the RPM's now that I switched from a Pro Circuit to and FMF and has a ridiculous mid range. Top end could be a bit better but I don't want to sacrifice the low end I was able to get out of it. I had a 09 KTM 250 and this thing is definitely faster now that's its been completely done. It has a ton of torque.

Is that really a 500 YZ in the background? Silly Very nice job on the CR. I like how you blacked out the shock body and the fork tubes as well. That is one of the nicest looking bikes I've seen in a while. What is Mika Metals? I've never heard of them.

Mika Metals will be on the market in a few months. It has been in testing stages for about 2 years and will be ready for production in 2012. They will have a line of handlebars, chains, sprockets, fork bleeders and vent caps, with more products being released the following year. I've been testing pre-production stuff for a while now and the quality of it is great. It has a different look of what's currently on the market.

I hear this constantly and it makes me scratch my head. At no point on an MX track should you ever be dogging the thing down low, it should always be on the pipe. The low-end is meaningless outside of the pits if you're riding the bike correctly. The motor is fine really, just like anything with a little work it comes to life.

I can appreciate what you've done here. The bike looks good and I do love the two strokes but I'm with Cam on this one....

I've had stock looking bikes for about 20 years and figured it was time to do something different. Still a fan of stock look as well though, that stock Honda looks nice.

I have ridden all the 250 2Ts over the last 15 years and hands down the 2001 CR250 was the best engine, cornered well, though the stock suspension was horrible (but fixable). The next generation frames were better, but the engines were mediocre at best and I think Honda screwed up by going to the case reed engine.

Attached in the pic below is probably the best 250 2T ever that never made it into production. It is a picture I took at the now defunct Honda track in Okegawa, Saitama prefecture in Japan many years ago. Honda put the 2001 piston port engine into the last generation frame (but with the older plastic parts). Around the track side by side with the newer case reed engine, the newer engine needed a lot of clutch and revs to keep up with the old engine.

Never tried the 01 but can't imagine it to be much better than this modified engine. The 09 Ktm I owned had an easy to ride very tractable engine but I like this CR better. The Honda you posted is sweet I would love to ride it with that 01 engine in it.

Retail including the price I bought it for( 2700) would cost around 7200. That includes wheels, suspension, Hinson full clutch, Vforce, bars, chain and sprockets, anodizing, graphics, pipe and silencer, motor work. That's not Including labor or shipping on any of this. I wouldn't pay this much to get it done, but that would be retail.
