Makes the comment about Team manager and suspension tech leaving during 1st moto @ Southwick. Apparently crossed the line with that one, as no further comments.
Getting caught up in forums, tweeting, etc. can quickly get out of hand when you make comments on everything you see, as you may not realize the consequences of your own one sided view of the situation.

I personally like Matthes and his type of journalism. He's one of the very few out there that will talk about the things in the industry that are secretive. Just my 2 cents.

What one sided view, he just said they did that but also said there must be a reason for it. Maybe they had a family event on Sunday that they needed to be home for, I don`t know.

So if someone in the industry does something in plain view that is questionable, nobody should say anything about it...

If that is the case and the guys that left the race early on their team only because of the storm, than they are weak.

So they didn't leave during the 1st moto?
If they were up front with their employer who cares? If they weren't...lesson learned.

Steve offered his opinion on the situation. I'm sure he will receive a call from the NSA if National Security was breeched in any way.

I thought we were talking about moto-x.

So what's the other side?
9/2/2011 5:17am
Also, I don't think that Steve called them out directly - someone else said the name directly. Don't remember who. Wasn't that the case?

WHat happend???

It's pretty simple, like most cases with our sport and the internet.

You have the secrecy and keeping things correct to the "t", and you have the journalists/insiders/people that publish what they see.

I don't know what the story is in this case but I love that someone is reporting and saying what they see, whether it's positive or negative.

Either way, the core fans want to know as much as they can, but do the the reporters aka journalists of MX have to keep quiet about a lot of things. There is never going to be an even balance. Someone gives the public some good inside info and the fans love it but then will always question it again.

You keep quiet about things and the sport is too anti-transparent and the fans aka the moto boards are not happy with the lack of dealings.

It's always going to be mismatch of ideals..

Wasn't the comment in Observations? If so, it has been removed. I remember reading it, but don't recall which team he was referencing.

I was just inches from Matthes at the Colorado national and my opinion is that he is the size of a house.

Exactly. On the show monday night Steve mentioned 2 guys leaving early but did not name them or want to comment because he had not talked to them yet about the circumstances. After someone else outed them then Steve said it seemed like a bad move but that they may have a good reason that they did leave.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Steve tweets, but doesn't say who. It comes out that it's DV. DV tweets about it, explaining it, then tweets about how he's in CA, ribbing all the guys stuck on the east coast.

Then on the pulpmx show, Steve won't say the name, which I kind of thought was silly since DV tweeted about it, but then one of his guests mentions DV by name.

I just got a kick out of the whole thing. DV has created a team that can run itself - the sign of a great manager.

It was not DV they were talking about. Chisholm said that DV left right when the motos were done. It was another team who one of the callers brother rides for.

it gets down to the perception, I would rather be at home then at Work.

They race one day a week, I think most owners expect their crew to stay until the race is over.

I'm afraid it is top secret. They are part of a military organization and the General called them back early to the west coast. Cool

To out them would be worse than being blackballed by MX insiders. I could get droped like a Reno fag.
