Nerd,

Drop this thread, don't reply again, build on your new one... Just my opinion...

By the way, what I was talking about when I said that (this quote is out of context, but you can go listen to the show again and hear it for yourself) is that I pay over $1k per race to be at the races reporting, whereas the other guy had gone to ONE RACE and lied about all of the rest of them up to that point, thus saving the $1k per race through dishonesty, and I think I'm right in saying if you're going to say you're at the race, pay your dues (the $1k) and actually be there instead of taking the chicken-shit way out and lying to everyone.

Now, knowing the context of that quote, do you still feel the same way about it?

The best part is that you guys kiss his ass just because he's "nice". But in reality he's not that, either, he's just good at making people believe things that aren't true. I have no interest in such a thing.
-I knew the context, I dragged myself through that podcast, it was painful and pitiful.
-I don't kiss anyone's ass
-I still think you are one.
-Even before this conflict, I thought you should stick to pushing a camera button, which you're good at.
-Don't post things on vital and try to defend it every time someone makes a remark, it's useless.
-You clearly still hold a grudge about this stuff, every time someone brings it up, you have to provide your side of the story and that avatar isn't helping.
-For a guy who is at the race, your report doesn't add one bit to the tv coverage we have already seen or the tweets I've read, it is in fact what happened, but written media should add things we as viewers can't see.

Why not:
-Post your thoughts on privateers who do so well at the 'Wick? We hardly see footage of them (better than usual this weekend though)
-Write something about Reed's Championship hope's which are clearly over.
-Ask Villopoto why he rode so conservative in stead of gaining maximum points in such a close championship. And would he do it the same way, in hindsight.
-Report about Metty's win, and how the team feels with such a big up and downside in this race.
-What Barcia felt, knowing how he could have won his second 450 race.

That's just the 450s, and you don't even have to insult riders or anything, so you can still be welcome under their tents.

In stead, I can open 4 mx websites and and read the same stuff by so called writers, and read the same article, one even worse than the other.

Thank god, Matthes knows he's no writer and doesn't pretend to be one, and provides us with some jokes and an entertaining read.

Even TWMX had the balls to set up an interview with JLaw and ask hard questions when he got out of jail.

There is nothing in your write ups that makes me want to come back to motocross.com, because there's nothing original in there.

Vital has got it's pit bits, and Gibby road trips, that's something other sites don't do (or as well as he does).

I'm not some flamer who doesn't read things because of the people who wrote it, I just think it's not that good.

You can argue all you want, but I don't care, it's what I think and untill proven otherwise, your articles are not in my list of must reads each week.

Okay, so just so I'm clear, you knew my point that "paying your dues" had to do with paying to go to the races instead of just lying about it, and you think that's an arrogant statement to make or an unreasonable thing to ask of someone?

Because that's what it looks like, and if so, I'm honored that you don't like me.

So from all of that, that's your answer?

I never said it was arrogant or unreasonable, get back to me when you actually read it and not just the first 2 lines.

Then why would you post such a quote out of context if not to imply there's something wrong with what was said?

Just another example of you trying to win another argument and not seeing it's not going to happen.

You should try posting a link, saying thanks to who ever thinks it's any good and leaving it be.
Your cardiologist will thank me and I don't get a 10 pager everytime you think you can actually win these things.

Some people think you suck, big deal.

Obama is hated by more than liked in his own country.

I've already won the argument. Just like wars, arguments aren't only won when one side gives up. Sometimes, they just lose. To quote me out of context, then backpedal as if you knew what I meant, and then stand by it either means you were lying about knowing what I was talking about when you made the comment, or you were being dishonest on purpose about the way in which you quoted me out of context.

Either way, it doesn't matter if you concede. I already won.

As for Obama, having people "disapprove" is not "hated". If you disapprove of your child's performance in school, do you hate them?

I win again.

This is a habit. You can quit if you want. I would if I were you.

That bother you?

You ignored the vast majority of mine as well. So what?

Do you really want me to respond to what you recommended I be doing at my job? Would you like me to stand over your shoulder telling you how long to leave the fries in? I wouldn't do that. It's rude.

Since you post your work on a forum, you're pretty much asking for comments, so I did.

Or do you just post here because otherwise, 90% of your views would disappear?
By doing so, you're pretty much telling your work doesn't survive on it's own.

I also didn't tell you what to do, I gave you another angle, from a reader's point of view.

How can you know you're doing a good job if no one ever tells you?

My boss and our counteparties tell me how I do on a regular basis, and as the readers are the ones paying your bills, I think they are entitled to the same thing.

We'll pick this up later, or my boss won't be happy tomorrow. Smile

I agree.

I was at the St Louis Supercross when RC had a DNF due to a failure with the rear suspension. Because I was friends with someone on the team, at that race, I happened to be privy to the discussion between Suzuki and the Showa people. If I had the ability to post (report) what I heard at that time (my job would not have been on the line) at least 25 people on this board would have said I was full of it. If Nerdy posted it, it would have been believable, and maybe 10 people would still bitch for more info.

Nerdy has credibility, he has paid his dues, and he is a moto journalist. I get out to about 8 MX and/or SX races a year, and i always see him there working. So, when I see his feature pieces and news, I read it because I know that he is right there, and its credible. Most of this last 10 pages of drivel is just argumentative BS. If you don't like him, don't read it. But don't attack a guy for doing his job.

that may be true, but damn, what other moto, or any other journalist gets into these grade school caliber arguments that go on, and on, and on, and on and on...

post your link, respond to any reasonable question, and let the rest go, there are more bitchy and negative posts on vital then any forum I have ever seen...

Any time things get rude, it's because people are rude to me. And I don't understand how people can blame the attackee for fighting back against attackers. It's a theme I keep noticing where people expect me to stop when the truth is I'm only responding in kind to how people speak to me in the first place.

Tell people to be respectful and it's no issue.
