I see allot of you guys didn't got this update. So I'm posting this here. Steve Ramon can't get visitors due the pain he have but at the end of this post you can find a adress where you can send "Get Well soon Card's" too. He is without a doubt one of the nicest guys in the MxGP paddock!

Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 rider Steve Ramon has begun the drawn-out road to recovery after his serious crash at Lommel during qualification for the Grand Prix of Limburg last Saturday.
The former World Champion was moved out of intensive care at a hospital in Genk (Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg) and transferred to a facility close to his home in Eeklo (AZ Alma) on Monday.
"Steve suffered a contusion of the spine and when the muscles began to ease he could regain feeling and move his legs. He can now sit-up and has begun the first steps of a 10-15-point plan," said Dr Sam Vermeire.
"There is a long way to go and we hope soon he will be able to take his first steps," Dr Vermeire continued. "When he can start to make 'transfers' such as moving from the bed, getting up to walk across the room, sitting down and-so-on; then he will be able to leave the hospital and go home to begin his rehab and physio from there.
"In four-to-six weeks we will know a lot more about his recovery and options for his career in the future," he added. "It could be three-to-five months before there is a full recovery and perhaps some painful rehab ahead because of the nerve damage, but, like I said; the first positive steps have been made so we will see how we progress from here."
Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 wishes to convey its wholehearted thanks and gratitude to all the medical staff and experts, from the scene of the crash at Lommel; to Steve's current rehab team for all their care, concern and attention.
"It is reassuring that motorsport athletes can have immediate access to the high-quality of medical treatment that Steve received and we are so-appreciative of every person who has helped; and for all of those who have sent Steve and the team well-wishing messages," said Team Owner Sylvain Geboers. "For sure this is not an easy time but Steve is a strong character as well as a very-fit individual, so we are hopeful for the weeks ahead."

It must been a very, very, very hard impacted! After that impacted his muscles went to "save life mode" that with that blocked nerves in his neck and with the destroyed ones in his left side made him paralyzed for a wile... But from the moment his muscles relaxed a bit and the "fixed" the nerve in his neck he got the feeling back. But now the destroyed nerves gonna be a bitch!! Everyone that has nerves pains knows that! If you ever got a operation and they screwed with the nerves in your skin than you know how much that hurts and he got that 1000x worse!
Didn't he break his neck once before?

What's rehab like - effective for a recovery?
I think (hope) we can all agree on this and put the whole “US vs. Them” thing aside in situations like this. At the end of the day Ramon is one of our MX brothers, and he’s a bad dude at that!! Two time world champ and for my money, one of the (if not THE) most clutch riders of all times at the MXDN. He has made me sweat on more than one occasion at that race lol, even as recently as last year!! A lot of people don’t notice his quiet charges through the pack and always assume we (the US) have things wrapped up, then here comes Ramon passing guys right down to the wire!! That guy always seems to step up at that race, every time!

Update:
News of the health of Steve Ramon after his bad fall in Lommel from our colleagues Mxmag.be. If it does not suffer irreversible damage, his recovery may take a few months ...
According to Dr. Sam Vermeire, which keeps track of where Steve Eeklo Suzuki rider is now hospitalized, "he can now sit and thus entered the first stage of a rehabilitation plan that will include 10 to 15. So there is a long way to go, but we hope it will soon be able to take his first steps. When it is able to get out of bed, walk across the room, sit ... then he can leave the hospital and perform the revalidation of the house. "
"By 4 to 6 weeks - he says - we know more about how Steve gets and the options available to him for the rest of his career. You should know that a full revalidation may take 3 to 5 months, not to mention that after this period, some pain may persist because of the nerve that was hit. "
We wish all the courage needed to Steve in this difficult time.
