But technically, even though he was just an inch away, wouldn't he be subject to disqualification for receiving that push across the line?

Went to watch a round that year at Jack Murphy, pretty good racing especially when you think it was as slick as f**k and set up for trucks and 4 wheeled what not.

Emigs get-off into the steel bridge while racing with another Michigander Todd Dehoop was another memorable one.

As I remember it though Bader Manneh was a bad ass there.

And to answer the other guy's question.....the streamer flapping from the helmet is a way of showing the fans that Larry and another rider (most likely M. Craig) qualified fastest and second fastest in that heat, and were moved to a fourth row start. Ultracross used a multi-start rubberband gate with two guys per row. Fastest qualifiers were started in the middle (row 4) and were provided passing points in the heats, and the main. Streamer provided the fans a way to determine who was making their way through the pack.

Both Larry and M. Craig were farther back then that at the start, but the clip didn't show the beginning of the race. This is why there was a no-name in the front at the beginning of the clip, due to the inverted start procedure MTEG used.
