Honestly I've played the Alive SX tracks for less than 20 mins, tried to play them online but you can't choose SX in the public rooms and they never came up, they're not that good anyway. The bale problem is still there that's been there for the past 3 games? I guess I lost count. I got pissed off turned the Xbox off and don't care to fool with it. I have about 60 bucks in an unfinished game that has 2 crappy arena cross track, you guys didn't even bother to make them different tracks. I know it doesn't matter, but I feel like I got F'd pretty good this time around. If you Alive folks do read this do me a favor, go play Real Racing 2 hd for the ipad2. That's how a game should be done and it cost $ 9.99. Online play is awesome, career is awesome and you can actually see the track you are racing on.

I haven't built a gaming PC in years, can you guys give me some basic specs on what I need to run MX sim at full detail? WHat's the best video card and processor to go with for the game that won't break you? I know memory is cheap, but I'm out of the loop on video cards and stuff. I need a new PC so I might as well build one to play SIm. What are people using for controls, back in the day I used a Microsoft sidewinder joystick for MCM. Is there a good stick for MX games out there? Thanks.

Are you looking at full detail on single player, or having a 40 rider gate? Because it ranges from a pretty average 6 year old computer, to a damn supercomputer.

I guess a step below the leading edge...I guess I'll do some research and get whatever I can afford. I want to play multiplayer, how do you set up races? Just invite folks or what?

If I got this video card:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521

And this processor and 8 gigs of mem:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103913

Could I run it in full detail with 20 riders?

I would over clock the crap out of everything with MCM1 and 2 to get a better frame rate, started with a celeron 366 running at 550 then I had a Pentium 700 that was running at 1025 stable for a while, it would run at 1125 in the winter time, I had a fan system that would suck frosty air from the outside, I would put a loop in the duct work with a towel in it to catch the moisture build up, lol. Pretty clueless on all the stuff out there now, I been wanting to build a decent PC anyway. I guess if I don't like MX Sim i can play something else. Tired of the Xbox bullshit! You can build the game you want! LMAO, 2 arena cross tracks, snow tracks, jungle tracks that I race on without seeing the dirt. So I guess I'm supposed to shell out more money and hope the tracks don't suck again? That's a long shot. Maybe they should send me to a race to rub elbows with some riders and I can tell everyone how awesome the SX will be? Unbelievable, amazing SX tracks man, ya I'm stoked.Sad

As of now the game only uses 1 core and does not use SLI or Crossfire. With that said, architecture and pure clock speed helps a lot. Also, the game uses a lot of Vram, even 1GB barely scathes by with higher texture settings. If you want to spend a little more and get a 6970 (one step above the 6870 you picked out) you'll get 2GB of Vram (plus just overall better card).

This isn't totally necessary. Running on 256x256 tile resolution, you can easily stay under 1 GB. If not, just set model texture resolution to 9. At that setting, I rarely go over 256 MB. I did request that JLV implement a max texture resolution setting, so that will keep most things sharp.

for those of you ragging on Elliot for making a statement regarding the apparent copy of a licensed track/area from Alive, get a fucking clue. it's his livelihood. his bread and butter. his means to pay his fucking bills. and he's doing all the licensing and shit the correct and legal way, and you clowns that play the MXS game for free and build your free mods for the game are talking shit because he is calling someone out about an obvious attempt at clowning Alive?

the 149 on the video? sure it's dudes number, but knowing that Elliot and MX Alive have released all the updates and videos with his customary 149, it's a blatant jab, and some of you guys are too fucking dense to grasp it.

fucking grow up.

i wish i never would have opened this thread past the first page, it was a cool video for a very cool yet difficult game and turned into a total lack of respect for someone in the Game Development industry.

What we are trying to tell everyone (including Elliot) is that #149 in the video is, and has been, DJD's racing number for MX Simulator since he bought the game. The reason he uses that number is because that's his User ID #, which happens to be ordered by date of purchase (low UID = own game long time).

Look for yourself and you fucking grow up.

What are you talking about kid? ^^^

So basically you are contradicting yourself. You can not say we did wrong, by backing our community. You can say whatever about us. Umm no it does not play like that. The point, and fact is, and will remain. Elliot is hating, there is no copyright involved . nor is it a Replica from ALIVE, The Disp map was changed to better suit some features of the track from ALIVE. However there is no grounds for any sort of Copyright. Nice try Elliot, and whoever is hating on the track. Also I love how you guys use my video to start this shit off topic rant.

U edited where u had Lever instead of Level.... Nice Try! I'm just saying u can't call one side Fanboy's and not MXS followers Fanboy's! I'm far from an Alive Fanboy, I've criticized it since it came out. U have to have a Good PC to run MXS to it's Full Potential, Which costs money! I'm sure if I had a good PC I'd give MXS a Run as I'm a MX fan too... I never said anything about what's going on between u and Eliot as I could care less!

What about the lack of respect for Moto gamers? He chose to come in this thread. I have yet to play the SX tracks on non private multiplayer because they never come up. How about an option to choose SX? What happened to the awesome unbelievable SX tracks you talked about? I was super stoked when they came out, because I pretty much took your word on how awesome they were going to be. I have yet to try them on open multiplayer, because they don't come up. What's wrong with letting us choose what tracks we race? What's so hard about making a sx track that doesn't have bales that constantly block the track? 2 tiny arena cross tracks that are almost alike and we waited how long for these? How many years has it been now that he comes in here and makes all these promises, gets our money and disappears? They were going to fix reflex, they promised all kinds of things for reflex then said screw everyone we'll make a new game and charge them out the wazoo. The old Peelout would have been raising serious hell. I can adapt to how the bike handles, I even got used to the taunts, I kind of like the gyro. Just make some decent tracks and if you can't, hire some of the MXsim folks to do it. Hell at this point a I would buy a reflex SX track pack for this game if it were possible, at least i would know what i was getting.

He may have started it but is amusing that the sections were updated to reflect changes james made here in the studio that don't exist on his real track. Even down to objects. I can pick out at least a dozen things we did with James that are ripped off in that video.

@ Garet your a rbw / thq thingy rider bro, why??? he wins a trip to vegas and swallows now, no questions asked.

As for elliot keep his a$$ over @ mx vs atv *the dead* community. All he is there, is the face of mx vs atv game with a fat mole on his grill, you think he is an actual lead game designer lol lol, he does everything with the pr. Razinbager or whatever his name is chris hes the only one there with some type of mx knowledge. For elliot to stoop and come on here and hate on a pc game or rippen, but cant fix his own failed game or come out of the closet over there is quite funny. Lets all face the music thq / rbw empty'd there accounts to get stewart thinking it boosts there sells, lol the only thing it boosted were keeping more people from buying there game.

scrue proper grammar lol

lol waaat, people have been doing replicas of tracks since the dawn of mcm. Why should this track be dealt with any differently because thq included it in their shithouse game?

From the video, it doesn't look to be a direct rip off of someone elses work, they've made the track themselves, so what is the problem?

I don't like MXS, played it ALOT a few years ago, i never gelled with it, the community is full of kids, so its not my cup of tea, but it's alot more popular than THQ's vomit, and for the right reasons, and i bet you it's making alot more money, and for the right reasons, it gets updated properly and people make new shit for it all the time. THQ need to pull their finger out, stop the feet stomping when someone releases something better, and get on with their job, cos their shit sucks right now.

You know what kills me about this whole thread and especially Rainbow's defense of licensing is I sure seem to remember 2 games made by them that had the exact same content structure as MXS. I'm pretty sure in MCM2 I could modify skins and tracks to make free replicas of whatever the hell I wanted. So now that another company (one guy) is doing it after Rainbow moves to the console and gets worse suddenly it's worth throwing around some keyboard muscle? I didn't see anyone at Rainbow crying when replica stuff was made a decade ago for their game.

Whether Rainbow released a track editor / tools for MCM - MCM2 or not there would of been custom tracks eventually, look at what Laurie from Twisted Dirt has done with his own editor (not including a lot of the other tools which made certain things possible that were not or took a lot longer to do manually) Game developers do not have full control over what mods or custom maps are made unless they are released in a official package with the game or as a add on (unless the game can only be started and played on official servers like WoW or iRacing etc which gives developers more control), but even then there are mods and hacks that get around this.

Either way I'm not sure how anyone can complain if someone else made their own version of the same track even if ideas came from another game (game developers do this all the time from each other) If it was a direct rip of the height map then that would be another story all together which I don't believe it is?

I believe I started or was one of the first to make a new type of track design and ideas for MCM / MCM2 physics and many people copied those ideas which was actually good to see.
