Fly Racing Gear

Edited Date/Time 1/26/2012 11:05pm
Seriously thinking of changing it up from TLD and Fox that I've been using to Fly racing for O-Twelve. My only question is about the quality because I remember reading about questionable quality and comfort when they first came out. Anyone have experience with their latest stuff?

Its really good I have the 2011 kinetic gear and its just as good as my fox 360s I have from 09. Its well worth the 100 dollar price tag. I recommend them

I've had two sets in the past 4 years and I love the stuff. Comfort is good, plenty of room for knee braces in the knees. Sizing is pretty much spot on. Durability is great, the only places that are worn are the leather inside of the knees from the shrouds and my knee braces. None of the logos wash off or fade in the washer. I would recommend it!

I ve been wearing the kinetic tech mesh for the hot days , and evolution for regular days! IMO great stuff. And I have used fox, thor and troy lee, and that as well is great stuff. Fly is a bit cheaper, quality is right up there with the more expensive stuff. I love the way their pants snap together, 2 snaps and a side velcro piece in case they feel big. I love the way they feel, They are cut big and have plenty of room. If you have doubts check motorcycle closeouts.com, they have some great deals on leftover stuff for you to try and decide if you like Fly stuff before you buy the newer more expensive stuf.

Fly is just as good as anything elese on the market, I have worn it for years and I like the cut better than the other brands. That is the main diference in the better quality gear, for the most part, is the cut and graphic design. If you like the look and fit, it will not dissapoint.

Fly gear is good stuff. I think the Kinetic gear is the best bang for the buck on the market. I have multiple sets of Kinetic and Evolution gear and like it all.

My son has been wearing the Kinetic mesh since Christmas and the quality is excellent.

Is the Fly stuff cut bigger than TLD? One of the reasons I liked the TLD is because I'm not a very big guy and their stuff fits me like a glove - large enough for my knee braces but not overly large or oversized.

I don't know what the sizing is like on the TLD stuff, but the Fly stuff has good knee space and quite a bit of adjustment due to the adjustment straps at the waist.

IMO fly is cut like tld, I ve had both, but what do i know, lol. Both are generous in sizing, i think thor and fox run a lil small.

I sell The Fly line at Crazy Al's powersports in London,On in huge volumes and it very rarely comes back because of quality issues.

I've got '11 tld se , and '10 gp air. My '11 Fly kinetic mesh is definitely runs a little tighter in the pants. I like the fit though. The only quality issue with the fly gear is having one of the waist snaps rip out the first time I unbuttoned my pants. The Fly mesh gear doesn't seem to rip/tear as easily as the TLD air stuff.

I am using 11 Fly evolution gear and am 100% happy with it. They have some attention to detail designs that increase the fit and function and to my knowledge on other gear company uses these features.

Cool.

I have never before purchased gear based on the what riders wear it, though with Canard returning to racing at the same time that Fly's 2012 gear is released. Although I also really like Shorty and the toughest thing might be deciding which to get.

Shorty's?

Canard's?

yup, fly kinetic is GOOD stuff. i'm a pretty skinny guy myself. i'm 6' 130lbs. and i got the 32 pants and they fit perfect. definitely never had any comfort issues. the ONLY quality issue i had was the first time i wore them the snaps on the front of the pants were so stiff and tight that when i was trying to undo them the back part of the inside snap got all bent up and almost popped through. so just be careful with the snaps. overall i would definitely say go for it.

edit: oops, mine are the F-16. but i'm sure the kinetic stuff is good too!

Fly's recent gear is awesome - especially for the price! I have worn all three lines; entry F-16, mid range Kinetic, and top of the line Evolution. I probably prefer the mid level Kinetic best. Check their helmets too!

Why is it that every time I see that Fly yellow helmet I think of Guy Cooper?
