Anybody else thinking the issues Yamahas are having could be related to no factory team? All these satelite teams (Gieco, 22, Hart & Huntington, etc.) have at least some level of factory support to help with baseline settings. Yamaha disbanded their factory team, then came out with a all new bike, where old settings wouldn't apply. That leaves the satelite teams with a lack of support because theres nothing to fall back on from the factory.

I know people are going to spit out Millsaps - JGR doesn't count. They only go to prove my point, a team with deep resources is able to make the bike work. Smaller teams that don't have those deep pockets, benefit more from factory support.

33% of the top ten overall were on the pigs. More than any other brand. Just saying.

There's this guy in Corona, I think his name is Mitch.

He wins MORE races and MORE Titles than ANYONE.

He's runs a Motocross Team.

It's not a Factory Team.

You're right, Kawasaki doesn't pay for 80% of his teams salary and 100% of his teams R&D.

Team Yamaha doesn't have any riders, but they still have all their R&D guys and all their techs, they know how to set up a bike, all they need is a decent rider to do it.

Trust me, Kawasaki pays for about 95% of that team, thats why he is what he is, his budget is huge compared to any other satelite team.

I'm going to print this and throw it on the desk on Tuesday...Mitch is gonna laff his ass off.

The $ flow from Monster.

Yes, there are some really nice parts (Hardware) that come from KMC.

P.C. does their own R&D, again...with some nice hardware from KMC; yet, you guys are really missin' the boat on who develops what on the 250s...right down to Pistons, Cam, Ports, Programs...etc.

On the funding: Even for the boys in Irvine...the $ flow from Monster.

I know who develops it, Mitch does, now when you throw it on his desk ask him who pays for that R&D. Then ask him who is paying the salary of every team green rider that came up and rode for him, everyone from Carmichael to Wilson gets their check from Kawasaki.

Riders Mitch hand picks such as the Pourcels and the Mike Browns get payed by him.

You couldn't have taken my comment more wrong.

I agree, not the bike. But, some riders are having a set-up issue, due to lack of time on the bike, development, testing, whatever. Sure Yamaha still has people to doing R&D, but they don't have factory riders to pull information from anymore & they haven't since the 2010 changes came out.

I have no doubt it the base platform has potential to be as good as any other bike on the track.

When Yamaha had a team, Doug Dubach did 90% of the testing for them anyways, he still does. There is Zreo issues with the new YZ450F except there is no fast rider on it for the nationals.

IMO, Pro Circuit & their capabilities would fall in line with JGR's, as far as resources for development. And, in that case, see my original post.

When I think of Factory Yamaha USA , I think of them giving bikes and parts to a guy that said he made Ti fasteners for F-1 (CrossX) when in reality the people couldn't even afford to eat at Burger King.

Clearly someone doesn't do their homework or pay attention.

Maybe next week I'll try and do a mini gallery of all the Yamaha factory people that are at the races. There's plenty of Yamaha support, and I'm sure they get a lot of feedback from the blue teams.

Please note that last year, in the World Championship, DeDycker (racing for the satellite team Ricci Racing) won both motos of the German GP on the Yamaha. Philappaerts won the French GP and went 1-2 at the Brazilian GP. This year, Frossard and Philappaerts (who race for the Rinaldi team) have won 1 GP each.
