Well this is it friends. Race weekend has come. All systems are "GO" for the 2nd Annual So Call Vintage MX Classic at Barona Oaks MX. Today is practice (9:00 to 3:00) on the actual track, so we can test it and make sure it's perfect for tomorrow's race. So call the boss and tell em you think you're coming down with something and make it a long weekend.

We anticipate alot of campers tonight and tomorrow and we encourage you to all to come and join the party...Oh, I mean the race!... It will be a great weekend of racing, moto talk and fun times. Even if you are not racing, come and check out the great racing, awesome bikes, past legends of MX and so much more. We also have some great event posters featuring the MX Legends that will be attending the event. Confirmed Legends include Ron Lechien, Marty Tripes, Marty Smith, Mike Bell, Tommy Croft, Jim Gibson and possibly Steve Stackable. Most of these guys are racing!

There are also 2 other special features of our event: The "All Maico" Adolf Weil Tribute Race and the North/South VMX Challenge: where the best riders from the NORTH battle the best riders from the SOUTH. It should be exciting.

Special Thanks to all the sponsors of the race: MAXIMA, THOR, FMF, SPY, DUNLOP TIRES, MOTOWORLD of ELCAJON, RACE TECH, RACER X, HEARTLAND MEATS, CMMC and Barona Oaks MX for allowing us to share their great facility. http://cmmcracing.com/

BIKE NEEDED! For our North/South VMX Challenge we are in need of a bike for Jim Gibson to race, if anyone has a nice raceable PRE-LINKAGE 250 (76-79) that they want to volunteer call or text me at 619-549-2997 or see me at the race track. We will give you one FREE RACE ENTRY and a FREE event Tee...

I'm heading out to the track now, I hope to see you all there!

Thanks for supporting the event!

If you missed it this weekend.....sad Smile The weather was spectacular, some great vintage bikes. My only comment would be to put "the Dogger" on an XR-75 for the next event...lol
Watching the Marty Tripes 100cc Revenge was like being in 1975 all over again. There was even a TM-100. Hmmm, maybe trade my 03 YZ-250 for a CR-480...interesting thought!

I dropped by for a little while and it was sick. Can Burnsworth ride forever, or what?

Here is the PR from the weekends races and a link to a photo gallery:

It surpassed our expectations and everyone seemed to have a blast. This event would not be successful without support of all of you:
The riders, sponsors and all the people behind the scenes.

When I see people laughing and smiling after the races, that is what makes all the hard work worthwhile...

It was a cool event. It isn't very often that a guy like me gets to be on the same gate as guys like the Burner and Chaplin. Burner is #8, Chaplin is #4, I am #65.

Burnworth still has that distinctive style! He and Myerscough are two guys you can spot simply by technique.

And......Bonham is a badass! Huge air on a twin shock!

This thread needs to stay in-play.
