I thought that I would share photos from a tour that I got of a cool private collection of bikes and more. The bikes are being renovated and several are raced. Sorry for the image quality, but all I had was an iPhone.

I was there for about 4 hours, so I had plenty of time. Got to sit in the P51 which is a once in a lifetime thing.

I went to an air show last summer up in central WA , and there is an older guy that owns and flies a P-51 around up there quite a bit. The day I was there , I got to see him taxi right out in front of us out to the run way , hammer down and put in two good flights! I can tell ya.....when he got on the throttle......goose bumps man....big time!

Is the Brit plane a Typhy or a Tempest?

Thats a Spitfire MkXIV (I believe). It has a teardrop canopy and a 5 bladed propeller, I believe that plane was Rolls Royce Griffon powered. The most beautifull plane ever build in my opinion.

I must say, that is the best collection possible to have. A P51D and a Spitfire, I mean how can you top that? Thats almost impossible. They are great and beautifull pieces of history. Simply beatifull

What's the story with the Honda that has the Kawi-like early 80-s top link Uni-Trak linkage? I'm I wrong in thinking Honda's Pro-links were always bottom linkages?

Neat to the Canned-Ham MX6 250 there. I raced one of those in 1980. It was fast, fat, and a piece of crap with a Super-trapp.

Actually, you nailed it on the Spit. It was one used to chase V1 rockets and knock them out of the sky with the Spitfire's wingtips.

There is another P51 in crates that is going to be assembled. (you can see the crates of parts in the first picture.) The extra engines are for the project.

I was told that was a proto-type of the first of the Honda linked bikes.

That could be an old Horsepower Factory set up. I had seen a couple of them around 82-83. They offered a frame kit and swingarm that accepted the Honda XR500 four stroke engines.

Maybe a 262? Woohoo

Beautiful planes, exquisite combo of design and function.

Edit update: an hour later and a bit oif coincidence as a B24 and P51D just flew by my office at low elevation; guess it's that time of year when they make the local visit.
