I thought it was awesome how he pushed his bike all the way back. I have seen RV, CR, and JS at several points in their career just throw their bike down after a mechanical failure and let a track worker or mechanic get it. After 30 minutes in the Texas heat, he still had the energy and character to push his own bike back, even though everyone knows he had to of been super pissed at the bike at that point. Awesome job Dungey, you're a true role model for up and coming motocross racers.

Because saving a baby from a burning building is easier than pushing your bike uphill after leading a pro nat for 30 minutes (leading by 25 seconds) in the Texas heat after a bike failure. He did it out of natural instinct. Goose is what 50? Dungey probably didn't want Goose to have a stroke/heart attack. lol

Dungey is a fantastic rider, he does everything right on and off the bike- the best US outdoor rider imo. I hope that Suzuki don't cost him another title with this mechanical. Outdoors suits him better than SX though and he has more time to make the points up... but Reed will be hard to beat in this position.

Did anyone see Earnhardt pushing his car back to the pits last night???

What a trend for the weekend.

Besides, isn't it ultimately rider responsibility to make sure the tank is topped off before the gate drops? You know, it's just like making sure the gas is on. The mechanic might do it, but it's best to check anyways.

You really think it was an issue of not filling the tank with gas? Cmon

+1. I watched and literally thought to myself, "There's not way in hell that I'd be pushing the bike that just cost me this race and potentially a championship back to the pits. I'd be more inclined to light the bitch on fire."

Lighting it on fire would have been easier if it had gas.

Just sayin'...

Some of you guys are either full of shit, hate Ryan so much that'd kill you to agree or have never raced in your entire lives'...
or all of the above...

Like "LURCH" correctly pointed out above, most riders I've witnessed DNF usually walk away from there bikes and let there mechanics come get it(in frustration/anger). I'm as fair minded as anybody on here and fairer than most, but that's the first thing I noticed. I thought "maann, when's the last time you've seen that?!"...Ryan Dungey is an excellent role model for this sport and it shows in everything he does on and off the track. Ryan still managed an 8th overall.

RV will pick it up(as will Weimer)and will be a force to contend with, no doubt(his SX performances just amazed and won me over)... and Chad has surprised me(he looks strong on that Honda!-nice performances Reedy!). Canard will be right back in the mix when he returns(another super kid). Pourcel, I think, is finding that throwing around a 450 in racing conditions is a little different than on 250Fs, but will eventually get it together(I hope). Nice ride for Millsaps and Shorty. Also that Christain Craig kid!

well... RV had a DNQ and alot of crashes in the sx and so had Reed
exactly everyone of them had problems and lost points. They say if dungey hadn't had the chain problem he would have won, but if RV did have the DNQ and those bad rides he would have been way ahead, if james didn't have all the crashes he would have been way ahead, so i don't think that the chain excuse is very valid.

Here is why its vaild Dungeys DNF was caused by a bike problem not his fault, everyone elses mishaps were caused by crashing out i.e. RV or being the worlds dumbest man i.e. Stewart or getting invloved with worlds dumbest man Reed, Dungey was the only one that stayed mistake free for the most part.
