Someone should've grabbed their cooler and thrown the ice on the bike to cool it down, haha. He'll come back from it strong though. He started riding better in supercross after his chain came off, so we might see an even more dominant Dungey from here on out. And he's only 9 points behind 2nd place Villo so if anything happens to Chad he's right back in it.
Overall it was a fun race. From where I was standing:
Dungey was riding really well. I mean, really well in that second moto. Super smooth even through the roughest parts.
So was Reed.
Track got very rough but they added too much sand over the years. Liked it better before when it was big square edge bumps instead of rollers.
Wilson and Milsaps have some big balls for blitzing the sand wall jump. Hard to explain how fast they were hitting it and the "kicker" bump before it was tiny.
Pourcel was just cruising out there, both motos. I know he had a mechanical in the second but both motos I saw him cruising before pulling off. Really disappointing.
Tomac is either riding conservatively or out of shape compared to the PC boys. Maybe training in Colorado isn't an advantage in motocross like it is in mountain biking. Everyone kind of assumes he will be in great shape because of his dad but he didn't look nearly as aggressive as Tyla or Dean towards the end of the motos.
Mookie is really out of shape. He was cruising through the rough stuff towards the end too.
The Star Racing guys were doing very well out there, looked very fast and strong.
Baggett was hurting. In that second moto guys were passing him who had no business passing him.
Les Smith was doing a great job on his first ride for JGR until the last lap when I guess he either made a mistake from being tired or got heat exhaustion and crashed. He looked really dazed as he was driven off.
Props to Christian Craig on a great ride in the 1st moto. Looked great for his 2nd pro national ever.
What's up with so many riders having their pants sag way down? Thought Thor had fixed that issue.
Those rollers before the finish have gotten huge and keep getting bigger every year. It was crazy seeing how Dungey would come through there like nothing and then see Windham bounce off of each one like a B rider in comparison.
Oh and GuyB has teleportation capabilities. I was walking around taking pictures and about 4 times in a row he was in front of me. I would take a picture from one side of the fence and he would be in front of me, so I would turn around and take some from the opposite side and bam, he would already be there!
Pit Row
Anyone know if Baggett was injured in his crash? That was the big question to me as he started out right where he left off at Htown until his crash. Then in 2nd moto didn't seem to be able to slash to the front like last week.
Is Cunningham going to be OK for next round? lol Great effort to podium but I thought he looked beat after the 1st moto ... after the 2nd moto even Erin looked concerned while interviewing him.
