I'm not buying the "it's the bike" excuse.

I think it's more of a I got hurt again then sat out the SX season then moved to a different and bigger bike and will take time to sort it out thing.

That was a strange deal. Running top two and just lay up and pull off the track after Reed got him. I have never seen a rider quit like that.

It really makes the Factories look pretty smart by not signing him. Pourcel may never get away from this. I hope he doesn't. The kid wasted a ton of this teams money and there time.

Pretty amazing if you ask me.

Davi was riding like he wanted to be out there, pushing the whole time and not giving up. Pourcel was riding good for the first 15 minutes and then it looked like he was pooped and gave up. Guess that's why he didn't want to ride for a team that paid only for performance cause it looks like he isn't physically prepared. Just my opinion though

Sounds like he held out for BONUS money. Meaning you have to take top 3 to get the real money. Pourcel is not doing so well this year.

It looks like Milsaps is putting in the work now. When milsaps is training harder than another rider you know shits wrong with pourcel. 10% bike 90% rider is the rule correct?

He looks motivated that's for sure. I don't want to bag on either guy really. Both guys have had injuries that would have ended most careers.

It just looked bad. Gut out a 10th, but stay out there man. You're a professional. Everyone would understand the guy struggling and for anyone to expect him to be a threat for a podium after a year off, on a 450, might be a little unrealistic. Not hating. Glad the guy is racing.

Milsaps looked great though!

Was talking mostly about Milsaps. You don't "have to like" anybody. Huh

Yeah, the factories are looking smart for the time being, but if Pourcel can get it together. He will be a threat.

Some riders really like the bike while others hate it.

Totally. I think most everyone would have had Bubba's back if he would have just did what he could for that day, and admit as much afterwards. It would have garnered him a ton of respect from both fans and his peers.

The guy looks like he has something strange going on there, not having a ride until a few weeks before the season etc,I mean he was virtually invisible until testing bikes out just before then??

Maybe he should look at the man in the mirror, no one to blame but himself! The nationals come around the same time every year, it was nt a big suprise they started in May. IMO he should have taken the geico ride,

He had months to get in shape. No excuses.Yes he was hurt bad a few years ago,but he has had 2 SX titles and let 2 MX titles get away form him since then.Bottom line,he is not in shape to race MX.Sure 15 minutes is fine for SX.

It's not the bike. He's just nowhere near race-shape. Arm pump can be a big problem and can take a long time (and sometimes surgery) to eliminate, but it's not a bike problem.

It's like RC said on TGO '04, "If you get the bike set up for one part of the track, it's not going to work on another. So I just go out and ride the damn bike and try to win the race."

I don't think his past injuries have a place in this thread either, but you sound like total redneck. God bless America eh? Or what ever you say here. Yehawww.

I usually defend Pourcel but I think its clear to everyone is waaay unprepared. I can't imagine what he was thinking not getting into better shape. He had the whole SX season to work on this. I hope he can turn it around - but realistically, how fast can you actually get fit? Fit enough to run with guys like Reed and Dungey for 2 x 35 min motos in the sweltering heat? Is there time before the season ends? Surely he'd be hitting his prime in August?

This is a weird debut. Guess you wouldn't expect anything less than CP eh!

Hann got top 10 at Hangtown on a Motoconcepts bike. and Ricky Dietrich (sp) went pretty good on a Yamaha too.

So my examples are fairly good especially when you see Milsaps track record outdoors.
