Why does any of that matter?

If my local deli put's extra cheese on for free, I still don't want it. It fuck's my sandwich up.

I wan't two classes, two moto's and to get the fuck outta there.

Race the women on Friday with the rest of those not fast enough to race on Saturday.

Was at hangtown, JP murdered the field IMO. Ashly didn't look very strong, especially compared to 2 years ago when she was dominating. Even just hearing JP on her bike, she sounded so much more aggressive on the bike then the other girls. The track is SO gnarly for them though. I think they should run on Pro day, but they should be ran before the guys. I have ridden hangtown on a regular track day while Alexah Pearson is there, and she RIPS. She looks so fast, and is whipping the jumps. After watching her ride hangtown on saturday, it really made me realize how gnarly the track was (same with gared steinke). It looked gnarly, but I think we really all have no idea until we ride it. Anyway, I like watching the girls race, much better than only having 250 and 450 motos. The more racing the better!

Disrespectful douchebags... good grief. Racing is racing. You bitch about guys not riding, but these chicks are out there giving it their best and some of you still bitch.

I was really hoping that Ashley would be on top this time, but when I saw the track, that is def. a physically demanding one and that plays into Jessica's strengths. And with that, I thought Geiger would be on the podium.

I hope they get some TV time. Highlights at least.

I think the WMA is great. If you don't wanna watch it, then don't. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to stay.

Seriousy?
F#CKEN SERIOUSLY.
Those chicks would stomp 99.99% of the riders (typers) on here.
Be man enough to appreciate them.
WTF.
This is the funny part. The top 3 in WMX would kill pretty much anyone on here except a few pro's that post. The rest of you need to sit down and STFU.

For those curious Ashley with a 2:27 qualifying time was 7 seconds off the 40th place qualifier Chad Gores in the Lites class. She would have qualified 70th in a field of 74. Patterson had a 2:29. The race times were slightly closer, Patterson was within a few seconds of the backmarkers in the field who were at least still circulating the track.

To give that real frame of reference Marvin Musquin was fastest qualifier with a 2:08, 20th was Tommy Weeck with a 2:14.

While I don't dislike having the WMX around, I would much rather have a single moto, winner take all 125 class for 15-18 year olds, or any riders with a 2 year max. A true stepper class from amateurs, maybe even with a claiming rule to keep costs down.

Ashley and Peterson had some great battles last year and were really great to watch. Unfortunately, the majority of the field is really slow, and do not belong at a National, regardless of gender.

Here is another perspective. It's somewhat apples to oranges, but the women might be closer that thought to be.

The second moto, Ricky Renner ended up 30th, obviously had some problems.

MIN 2:35.890
MAX 3:28.462
AVG 2:48.079

20th place in the 2nd moto went to Nick Paluzzi

MIN 2:26.248
MAX 2:44.486
AVG 2:29.889

Jessica Patterson was this. I'm not sure what is up with that max time, it looks weird.

MIN 2:32.762
MAX 4:23.379
AVG 2:36.100

I realize that there are a million variables that are in place to make the races different, but it's an interesting indication of how far they have progressed. A few years ago, it was 20-30 seconds per lap off the last place guy in the 250f class, if I recall correctly.

Just sayin' the day when women are racing nats might not be as far off as you would think.

I don't want to disrespect those families that work hard and support their daughters dream to race. These young women are athletes and have the right to compete.

Having the WMX at a Pro National Event sends the wrong message.

We hold up Pro Level Motocross as the ultimate achievement in our sport. Competing at the Pro level takes an uncommon amount of dedication by a rider and his supporters. If you are a top notch female racer, enter the mens pro class.

We don't hold a special women's event at an NBA game, women don't compete for time on an NFL Sunday. There is no women's class in the UFC.

Let me preempt the inevitable comments about my status as a misogynist and a Neanderthal. My wife and two daughters would tell you that I am not.

Let's not degrade this most important event in moto by attempting to suave the political wounds of some by pretending that the WMX is any else but an amateur exhibition.

That is the highest class for women racers, PRO. They def. deserve to be racing with the other PRO's.

Wrong message? Pro's racing at a Pro event, where there is supposedly fans of motocross racing and there is time in the day to allow for them to race.

And... they put on a show that may just get some other girls/women that are there, interested in participating in the sport instead of just watching.

Win/win... except for some pigheaded folks.

Yeah the "Law 131" logic is so incredibly flawed that it isn't even worth arguing about.

I do find it funny that he points to the fact that he has a wife and daughters as some type of credibility.

I'm not sure if you've read what he really has to say...

Here is the first logical flaw:

We don't hold a special women's event at an NBA game, women don't compete for time on an NFL Sunday. There is no women's class in the UFC.

Do we have two NBA or NFL games in one stadium, on one day? The answer is no.

By this logic we should have a separate day and event for the men in both the 250 and 450 class. You don't have a NBA game for people under 6ft and people over 6ft on one day to start with. It really makes no sense to even attempt to use this as an example. So Right, there is no special women's event, there is also no other events, unless you count the half time show. Guess which sex is the star of the half time show...go ahead, guess.

The UFC? If it isn't completely obvious to you, I don't even know.

Let me summarize...

The NBA and the NFL doesn't have two separate classes competing on the same day in the same stadium. Women or not, the argument is invalid.

There are obvious reasons why the UFC isn't applicable in this situation, one of which being that it isn't even close to motocross.

Women are often on the card at mma bouts. The nba and nfl comparisons are lame for obvious reasons. Time. I have always been a proponent of womens mx on the same day. How hard is it to run 6 motos?

I can't believe this discussion is actually happening. These women are pro motocross racers and the best place to allow that area of the sport to grow is having them race on PRO day. Their motos are only 15 minutes or so, go grab a beer and stare and some half naked spectator chick if you don't feel like watching the 15 minute motos. No, it is not the most exciting 15 minutes of your life but I grew up racing JP$. She was one of the first people I raced at my family's race track in Georgia when I first threw a leg over a dirt bike and she killed me. I've watched her nearly kill herself with injuries and just motocross life in general, and pretty much go buy a dirt bike on her own dime to go racing because Fiolek was coming in "to take over." Whether you guys like it or not, JP$ is selling more dirt bikes than 21st-40th of the MEN in both pro classes.... so maybe those men should just quit too or race on a separate day. Star racing is really, really pumped on JP$ as well as Yamaha. Something is working, and DC obviously thinks it is working too because it is drawing more females to Loretta's and such.

Motocross is an extremely, extremely.... let me emphasize "extremely," small sport in the grand scheme of things. There are what... 12 pro nationals for the year...? There are a gazillion baseball, football, and basketball games per year with owners that have a gazillion dollars and a gazillion television networks broadcasting them live every day and re-airing them day after day... MOTOCROSS IS NOT ON THAT LEVEL. LET THE FREAKIN FEMALES RACE ON PRO DAY AND GET THE EXPOSURE, IT'S ONLY HELPING OUR SPORT GROW.
