Just purchased the Yoshimura titanium exhaust. It says to use rubbing alcohol before you start it up. Does anyone do this? Basic rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol? Any tips for cleaning and maintenance? Thanks!
Rubbing alcohol, acetone, brake cleaner - Anything to remove finger stains or grease spots from install goes a long ways in keeping the header/can clean and free of burnt on residue before initial start up…Yes, this is a thing! Good on you for reading the Yosh instructions.
I like to lightly use 7448 going with the grain to keep cans clean when washing, and keep an eye on the stickers: Once they start darkening up from heat/time, it’s usually time for a repack. Cheers
Awesome, thanks, that makes sense. Speaking of repack, they had the nice tip of measuring the grams of the exhaust pre install, and repacking once it drops 100 grams. I love the attention to detail at Yosh.

That’s plenty strong. I usually just sponge everything up with Dawn and catch all the aluminum at once with either 7447,7448 or a combination of both: Frame, swingarm, exhaust can, exposed radiator bottoms, etc. And yes, Yosh is top notch with their attention to detail, welds, and overall customer experience. Congrats on that new trickness
