I have a 2023 ktm 250sx-f, live at 4,000+ ft of elevation. I was curious what gearing everyone is running. I currently use 14/52 gearing but the bike struggles on a tighter local track to pull 3rd and I find myself using the clutch to recover when hitting tight corners in 2nd. Has anyone tried 13/50 gearing? I was wondering if there is any substantial effects with the smaller front sprocket and the way the chain tends to bind up in the lower part of the rear shock’s strok?

I'm not familiar with the newer chassis (or elevation) so I don't have a specific recommendation but I always preferred the 14T on the older chassis.

Do you think that mapping (or fuel or high comp piston or all three) might be what you're looking for?

Yes, more expensive than sprockets!!

Nothing to do but try it. The 250 xcf has 13/52 gearing stock so 13/50 will fit.
