Hey guys, what spring rates are you running front and back for the RWE, for your weight?
The recommended spring rates from the various online calculators are suggesting rates that are considerably lighter than stock. I am 170lbs, and the stock shock spring rate was way too stiff - with 4mm of preload on the stock 56N spring, the bike had 40mm of free sag, and 90mm of total sag. Even with loosening the preload ring to no-preload, I could not come close to 105mm of sag.
Just curious as to what other current gen CRF450 owners are running.

For sure need a lighter spring. I am on the other end and needed a heavy spring for me. You can call Factory Connection and they will give you the proper rate springs and can sell you what your need.
I'm like 180 and im on the stock springs. Im actually extremely happy with the stock setup.
At 170 lb. a 54N should be close for you. I’d leave the forks alone until you sort out the rear, as the CRF’s generally like a little more stability by keeping that front end higher than the rear. If altering fork height and/or going out on compression doesn’t dial you in up front, don’t be afraid to dump 20cc’s out of both forks: Can always add back in 5cc increments easier than removing just a little at a time. Enjoy that bitchin’ bike and don’t forget you have an 18mm shock shaft - It has a little firmer feel than the standard 450’s 16mm and is more sensitive to HS adjustment!
Stock 2017 CRF450R should have had a 54Nm, if you have access to one or need to buy one and want OEM, by the way.
