Tech 7 hinge pin

Same thing happened to mine, emailed astars but got no response. Also emailed mx boot repair and again, no response

Just had this happen to me! The hinge came apart just like the ones pictured and I'm totally bummed. Now the boot gets caught on my plastics and subframe and it super annoying. Boots are about 3 years old but still have plenty of life in them. I really don't want to fork over another $400 bucks for boots but if I do get new boots I'm not sure I would buy another pair of these. They're stupid comfortable but dang I had hoped for better durability. Am i expecting too much from a pair of boots. I ride enduro btw

Same exact issue within mine. 1 year old boots. I ride some soft enduro but I don't believe that's an excuse for this to happen. Alpinestars won't do anything. Needless to say...I'll be buying Sidi or Gaerne next.

If you go with Sidi get the TA sole. It is a little bit wider boot and there have been issues with the bolt on sole base coming off the boot on the Crossfires. I stood in ankle deep milkshake mud on Sunday and my feet stayed dry. That was pretty impressive for a non water proof boot. The toe is lower than the Tech 7 so shifting is a little different.

Same problem in our juniors Tech 5s.

Absolute last Astars gear I will ever buy again.
