Just finished the rebuild of my 08 rm 125. Gonna run it on motul but which is the better option considering I'm just a novice/intermediate rider. I know the 800 is supposed to be fantastic but heard reports it has a lot of sponge unless the bike is ridden really hard. I'll be running at 30-1 or 40-1 on 99 octane fuel. Im not interested in any other oils that may be better etc just the motul as I'm in UK & some oils we cant get.
Cheers.

The 800 is premix only. I think the 710 is for Oil injected or premix. I run the 800 in my beta no issues with it, I have it jetted for 50:1 and it runs clean with minimal spooge.

I used 710 in my GasGas EC200 for enduros with no issues, jetted properly, I"m pretty sure it has a lower ash and combustion burn rate, so it burns pretty clean, but like any oil, jetting and correct mixture ratio is always smart.

I currently use the 800 @ 32:1 in my 06 RM 250 and YZ125 with no issues, both are jetting really clean, no spooge or dribble out of the silencer. I've been using Motul products since the mid 90's with no issues, I can't complain about the product at all.

Thanks

I believe the 800 is a higher flashpoint. I run it at 50:1 in a 250sx with no issues. No spooge

If you run hard, 800 at 40:1 is probably going to be about right with little or no residue out the back. If you are running not so hard, you may consider 50:1 with the 800. If you do go to the 710, 40:1 or 32:1 is probably fine.

The 800 is the better of the two, but better is dependent on your riding conditions. If you don't need it, then it might just be some extra insurance, though it may be overkill for your needs.

Went for the 800 seeing as it's an old 125 so might give a little more protection. I'll try 50:1 as I'm no travis p. Tbh the bloke in the shop said you could probably run 60:1its that good but it's your risk.

im a big 800t believer, ran it in both my stock Honda and vortex ICC pro shifter karts with incredible results as well as all my 2 stroke mx bikes to current.
