To further understand my forks & to confirm my adjuster assembly is functioning properly, id like to know how this works? I removed the adjuster to service the showa forks (SFF-spring) like I have many times befores before. Before removing the adjuster assembly, I backed out the rebound to the softest setting and confirmed it bottomed out. After removal and while I had only the adjuster in my hand, I adjusted the rebound setting. The needle spun and clicked, but the needle didn’t move up or down in the process. Nor did it bottom out on either end of the soft/hard limits. Is this correct? If so, how do changes in the setting actually work?
Only worked on WP, but should be same mechanism.

"Just rebuilt a set of these today... no adjuster on the spring side it’s a blank bolt... the only adjustment on the spring side is the preload and an air bleed screw... the opposite fork has both rebound and compression adjustment.."
YOUR ALL WRONG!!
If you lost the rebound adjuster (which is on the fork with damping, #95135D) you have also lost part # 46102 in that diagram. Your damper rod (the upper part of #440718) will protrude out the bottom of the fork while riding, catches the dirt and may be bent.
If it is the spring side bolt (#92055), then there is no rebound adjuster obviously, but the rod will stick out the bottom of the fork and can get bent. You also will have a lot of contamination inside the fork and potentially wear damage depending on how long it has been missing...
My comments from my above post still stand. The forks are different, but both have damper rods. If either lower "bolt" is lost they will protrude out of the bottom of the lug and be damaged when riding.
Hope you get your forks figured out bud.
