I recently picked up a set of AER 48's. I'm going to be using them on my 15.5 450 fe. Anyone have a good starting point of where to run them in the clamps. The AER's are 12mm longer than the 4cs forks on the bike. Anyone with first hand knowledge. I understand that suspension is a very personal deal. Just looking for a baseline.

I just got my 17 450 in the fall and raced the last race of the season so no perfect settings yet.;... 147 psi, C-14out, R-14out, and the Fork Height at the 3rd line down. Good luck

I would add 12 mm to wherever your 4cs forks were, seems like a lot, but this is what I did on my 16.5 450 FE with the 1rst gen. Aer forks. No headshake, turned great. I ended up around 145-148 psi for MX. I have since put these forks on my 2015 Xc 300 that came with 4cs forks stock, same thing, I raised them in the clamps to compensate for the added length of the Aer forks, needless to say, the 4cs forks will only be going back on the Xc when I sell it...worlds better than revalved 4cs forks...

What pressure do you run on your 300?

Around 140-145, I only got about 2-3 rides with them on my Xc, think They felt best at 142. I went a little softer as to not over power the shock settings... Right from the get go they were better than the revalved 4cs forks. I use my Xc at a rough, deep, sand/ woods loop I have fairly close to my house, it"s pretty much old school natural sand MX track with some tight woods sections so you can catch your breath before you get pounded again..what's funny is, I put Cone valves on my FE mid summer & the AER"s were just collecting dust until I got around to trying them on my XC, the AER"s seem to work better on my XC than on my 450, or it could be anything was better than the 4cs I had been running. What's great about these forks is their ease of air adjustment, I use a rubber o ring on one of the tubes to set air pressure, when the oring is about 1 inch from bottoming, I have the correct psi, then leave it, move on to comp/ reb adjustments. No matter how far off they are, you never get that 4cs mid stroke compression spike that breaks your wrist.

Thanks, I've been running 148 in my TC 250 and I'm taking a set from a 350sx to SoCal this weekend to test and just wondered since it seems like people are running less pressure in the 4-stroke version to make up for the difference in the mid valve design.

I bought a new 2017 250sx with the AER 48s I like the forks but after 20 hours they started leaking oil. I ran 148psi as recommended but did bottom them out a few times.
I weigh 165 + gear. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do with them? Revalue or maybe more air pressure so this won't happen again.

I know this doesn't sound right but I would actually run less air.
