Hey fellas,

I have a 2012 crf450r. Owned since new so I know valve clearances and so on are all good. I noticed on low rpm especially on tight tracks it loves to stall on me. I have noticed a few things people do. I have read a few things on it but cant find a defiant answer. Has any experienced this.

Thanks

Feather the clutch more with higher rpm. If youre really lugging it in tight stuff it can flame out.

Yeah on tight stuff I just find my self feathering it all the time. Just thought I had heard somewhere that this is a issue some people come across.

Cheapest fix is to adjust your idle up, best fix is to use an aftermarket ecu like from tokyo mods or vortex and take just a small amount of fuel off the very bottom and it will also help with the neck breaking throttle response at low speed. Or you can use the hrc tuner software and cable and tune the stock ecu. There are plenty of tunes downloadable for this since it was a pretty common complaint. The last but not least of the fixes would be to put a flywheel weight on. I used a vortex ecu on my 10' and turned the fuel down one click at the low rpm and it did wonders. Also aftermarket exhaust can help a bit as well... Yosh system is the most effective for moving the pulse up in the rpm range but that by itself probably wont yield the results you want unless combined with a tune. Good luck.
