2006 CRF250R help!

Had a guy bring me a bike he assembled and had no start issue. I checked valves which were way off and shimmed. Also, the timing was off one tooth. Put all back together and it kicks over harder than I think is normal. Doesn’t sound like it even tries to start even with starting fluid. Fuel bowl full. Any ideas?

Timing is off or decompression mech problems.

Check to be sure the cam gear has not spun on the cam and making the timing to be off. It is a known problem with these
bikes.
