I am trying to get some info on a good set of sprockets that will not wear incredibly fast. I have used Renthal sprockets and they wore to quick. I ride AA class Harescrambles and put about 80 hours on a season. Let me know what you guys have used thats lightweight, durable, and some what of a decent price. Thanks

its not the sprockets its the chain that wears and takes out the sprockets. Put a high quality chain on and the set will last.

I run a Moose chain that is a Regina chain in a Moose box.

+1 on the Regina chain. They are very well made and last a long time.

The other thing to make sure that you do is keep the chain and sprockets clean as dirt getting trapped between the roller and teeth will wear out your sprockets. Running your chin slack on the loose end of the adjustment range helps as when your countershaft - swingarm pivot - and rear axle are in a straight line the chain is at its tightest. The extra slack will keep the dirt from digging into the sprocket as there is room.

You might also want to look into a lightweight steel rear sprocket The price will be higher but if it lasts 3 times longer than an aluminum sprocket it will pay for itself. Also look at the Renthal twin ring sprocket as it has steel teeth and aluminum center section.

You run aluminum sprockets with regina chain and can make it last a while?

I have a heavy $20 Primary Drive steel sprocket on my practice wheels, and I can't tell a difference between that and the Renthal on my race wheels. The Primary Drive is cheap and lasts long but it looks G-A-Y.

I use inexpensive Alum rear sprockets and they last a very long time.....its the quality chain that is more important.

Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to try the moose RXP chain with Renthal twinring sprocket.
