With only 6 weeks to the opening of most tracks, I was hoping someone could tell me some things i should pick up and start to save for. I am trying to qualify for as many races as possible, with that in mind maybe someone could help me out.

Sounds like you're new to this. First, save all your money, because you'll need it. Start with maintenance items, like oil, and air filter oil, and filters. And for gas and race fees. Protect yourself at all times, dress for the crash. Get good gear and boots, and above all, a good helmet. The other thing is that every time you ride your bike, or race it, it's got something that needs to be fixed. You have to go over it every time. The only time a race bike is 100% is when you throw your leg over it and start it up and race it, after it's been maintained. Once you ride it, you need to check everything. Save the rest of your money for the maintenance it will need after you race it. The only thing that will make you go faster is riding your bike. The main thing is to have fun and be safe. Be careful, and I wish you good luck.

Winter is the time to get ahead on stuff like top end jobs, suspension refresh/revalve, etc. Start the season fresh! I guess if you had extra money after that you could hunt for bargains on consumables like tires/sprockets/etc.
