2011 RMZ250 New Pipe Issues

Just put a new FMF 4.1 RCT full system with a mega bomb header on my 2011 RMZ 250. The bike now seems to be lacking power, and it makes a sputtering noise at times from the pipe. I tried messing with the plugs to make it run more or less rich, but it didn't do much. I'm in need of detailed solutions please, but any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure wires are all connected, stock mapping? call fmf tech support, they are helpful also. also make sure pipe is on tight . step by step, process of elimination., my buddy bought a fmfm programmer for his pipe , runs perfect.

It only takes a few minutes to put the old pipe back on and see if you have the same problem. Then you will know for sure if it's something else on causing the problem or if it's the pipe. When diagnosing any problem always do the simplest easiest things first. If you're sure it's the pipe,then the first thing to do is get in touch with FMF and see what jetting changes they recommend. Their customer service is very good. I suspect you have some tuning to do with the addition of that new pipe. And put the stock plug in when you do it.

The bike is EFI, no jetting! just mapping and programming if you don t use the stock mapping!

Thanks! I'm working on it. I live where I can't really ride unless I drive, but I'm going to run the stock pipe this weekend to see if that's what the problem is before I buy the stuff to program it.

Run the stocker to see watsup,if it runs good, you know its the fmf?,is so contact fmf, maybe get another pipe before you put to many hrs on it! check with customer sevice.

Your bike came with two plastic plugs with your owners manual. Read the manual about them and then try each plug and see if it fixes your problem.

Make sure you have the springs on the head pipe installed. I didn't notice there were springs in the box a few years back and the bike was running like crap because the head pipe was pulling out of the cylinder.
