I just picked up a VForce3 reed valve in pretty good shape for like $15 from a dude that didn't know you could buy replacement petals... Also got a basically mint condition stock header pipe for like $25. One of the reed petals has a small chip in it though as you can see in the pictiure

Just out of interest, how do you think the bike will run like this? I can only get new reed petals in like a months time but still, buying an entire set of petals will be annoying because they are damn expensive in my opinion. I guess I could just stick it in and see for myself. What do you guys think? No one got like half an old set that they want to post to me? Wink

Ive seen bikes run really good with large holes in the reed petals. I dont know if there is any rhyme or reason to it, i would throw em in and see what happens.

Smooth any sharp edges with 1000-2000 grit sandpaper first. They'll probably be fine just to see how it runs with them.

Well, thats exactly what I plan to do - buy new reeds. But I can only get them in like a months time. What I am asking is if it will run fine like this. But it's fine, I put them in last night, will start her up today and see how it goes.

Doesn't idle as cleanly as before. Just about boggs right down to the point where it would cut off. Will take it for a ride this weekend if I can sort out another issue.

Rode with them like that today. Can already feel a massive improvement over the stock reeds despite the chipped petal. Will just ride like this until mid January when I can get replacement petals. Thanks !
