Hey guys,
I was just curious if any of you know of anyone who reproduced the dog on Rick Johnson's helmets?
I have one of the RJ replica red, white, and blue Bell Moto 4 helmets but it does not have the dog decal. I know TLD made a newer version of the RJ replica helmet just a few years ago but they wouldn't give me any info on the dog that was on it.
I contacted one of the bigger motocross decal companies and they said between artwork, set-up fees, etc., they could do a minimum of three for about $120.
I thought I'd try on here to see if anyone ever had it reproduced. Worse comes to worse, I spend the $120 and try to sell the other two.
FWIW, I searched this and came up with another thread from a 1 1/2 years ago but it never really went anywhere.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

The Shop
A few people are going to get back to me with pricing and stuff so hopefully something comes of it.

Thanks.
We have a few pairs of those pants @ our shop....Some how there is one of those stickers on my Ducati and my Jeep now...
For sure!
I also have the Troy Lee R.J helmet with the mad dog on the top too, she's got a nice dinger right on the mad dog though, after a nice concussion in it that lid is not a decoration......
It's theses pants that come with the sticker on the size tag, if you have a dealer in your area I'm sure you can work a deal for the sticker...

starchild, thanks so much for all the info. We'll get a repro of this thing yet
Sounds like Bell was sticking them in once they arrived stateside?
mxnick, I believe you are right on. Judging by the number of replica helmets you see without the decals, vs the few you see that actually have them on, vs the ones you see with the decal BUT it's in the "wrong" location. Also, a few months ago, there was a helmet on ebay with an NOS sticker not yet applied. Too bad I saw it AFTER the auction ended!!!
"The guy who has been around me the most is John Alveres. He was my best man at my wedding and I was best man at his. During my racing career he was the person that came up with the dog sticker that I ran on my helmet.”

Pit Row
first is the original 1986 era decal included with the bell moto 4
here is the rare troy lee designs issued mad dog decal from around 1990/1991. i purchased several directly from troy lee. they are on white vinyl instead of clear like the originals.
here is the cheesy replica i had made.
here's the SX champion decal included with the RJ moto 5 helmets.
I will definitely keep you all informed.

Thanks again, guys.

I have a Moto 5 that a couple years ago I prepped it to airbrush a replica of RJ's helmet, but I've been having a tough time finding decent pics of it.
I just got the artwork back and if the decal comes out like this, I am very satisfied. This was after I had him make the blue and red a bit brighter.
A big thanks to starchild, Mugen Racer and the rest of you for helping me out with this. I'm sure it will take a while until I actually get them, but at least I know my RJ replica helmet will finally have his "dog" on it. To me, the "dog" on his helmet just kind of added to the whole "bad boy" image he had.
I will have extras and will sell the rest to try and recoup some of the money I'll have into them. I'll let you guys know when I get them.

Other then the blue not quite being as "blue" as I hoped, I am totally please and satisfied and stoked my RJ helmet now has the "mad dog" up on top!
Thanks again to everyone that helped me with this, it was greatly appreciated.
I have about 15 or so I need to get rid of to try and get some of the money back I have into them.
$5.00 each, shipped in a plain envelope with "Please do not bend" written on it . If you want them shipped in a cardboard USPS Priority envelope, that would be an extra $5.00 I'm guessing. Let me know if you want one. What I don't get rid of here will go to ebay.
Thanks!
