ever played. MJ is now down a notch in history and Lebron isn't a winner.

History in the making is happening right now.

i am no basketball guy, but i don't know how you can say this. He still doesn't have as many championships, and he has never won defensive player of the year (to my knowledge). Kobe is a damn good player, but he is no MJ yet.

In this yrs playoffs Kobe is playing the best I've ever seen him--very MJ like.

Some of the shots he made against the Suns with guys in his face and falling backward were unfreakenreal! The media has said the same thing, as well.

He's on a mission for sure, he singlehandedly beat my beluved Suns, if he had just one avg game, we culda/shulda/wuda been in the Finals imo...

exactly. MJ did that for 14 years, then came back at 38 Y/O and averaged 22 PPG. Kobe got his game from watching MJ films. Kobe even learned how to womanize from the master, he just couldn't keep it under wraps like jordan did.

He ain't Jordan. His surrounding cast is much better than anything Jordan ever had. How many games would the Bulls have won with MJ and Shaq? He has Gasol now, and the rest of his supporting cast is better.

I agree 100%. I hear about how Jordan had a good supporting cast from the ESPN guru's all the time. No he didn't. Pippen was good but not great like some think. Rodman was a good defender. After that they really had noone else. Before these playoffs started
everyone on ESPN was saying Lebron was going to be the best ever. They quickly jumped off that bandwagon after the Celtics took down the Cavs. I do think Kobe is the best in the game today though.

MJ did have a good supporting cast from what I remember. Kukoc was a quality player, and Kerr I believe was a specialist from downtown.

Jordan was more of a team player.

Kobe seems to single handedly beat down my Jazz every single year in the playoffs...If I didn't enjoy watching him so much, I wouldn't like him at all.

From a strictly ball player perspective, he is amazing to watch.

I think Kobe is the best rapist to ever get off the hook. But hey, I'm just sayin'...

you know how before then end of a quarter, the point guard will wait until there's are few secnds left to get a shot off..... I believe it was game 4 of the PHX series, the backup point guard sat there for abiut 20 seconds. then when he tried to drive the lane with 5 seconds left to go, Kobe made a steal, ran the court, and made a sick pass for the lay in. i was laughing my ass off. the pheonix player got absolutely worked.

Kobe may be better is some eyes, for me, it's always gonna be Michael Jordan.

I loves the MJ.

MJ would shut down kobe AND drop 30 on him. Why? Because he hated to lose worse than any bball player I have ever seen. He also loved a challenge.

Saying Kobe is the best ever over Jordan is like saying Ryan Villopoto is the greatest ever over Carmichael.

Compared to Bill Russell, Kobe, Magic and MJ are playground players . During Russell's career he led the league in total rebounds on four different occasions. He was also the leading rebounder in the playoffs in nine different seasons. Russell was named to twelve straight All-Star Games and was voted the league MVP five times. He earned 11 Championship rings in 1957, '59, '60, '61, '62, '63, '64, '65, '66, '68, '69 ( 3 of the Championships were earned while Russell was a player/COACH).

Russell was a better post player than any of them, but I have a choice between all of them I take MJ first, then Magic, then Russell, and Kobe. Best all time is MJ, then the Big O, Chamberlain, and Larry Legend.

Pipen and Rodman.... Rodamn arguably one of the best defense and rebounders that game has seen. Jordan is number one of all time. Lets call it like it is though. Kobe is a bad ass. He is the best in league... no doubt. Lebron is a bad ass... number two... and media darling. I love Kobe's passion, work ethic, and intensity

Comparing Rodman to Russell in an insult
