You have to be shitting me, $250 for the smallest cooler that weighs more empty than my coleman full of beer and ice.
I have a $50 coleman that is a good 10 years old. Still works perfect. Ice is cheap.

I still might buy their $30 can huggie. I just think it's cool. 30 bucks for a fkng huggie...wait...nevermind. That's just as stupid. Drink faster.

Yep, a $500.00 cooler to keep 3 bucks worth of ice from melting. I got a few of the Yeti cups and can holders for my birthday recently. The wife stole the big cup right off the bat. Crazy thing about that $40.00 cup is she will fill it with ice water Friday morning, refill it through the day with more water and then sit it on the counter Friday evening when we get home from work. Come Sunday there was still ice in the fugger. They are obviously doing something right and selling a crap ton of them so good for them. I had one customer in my office on the phone with his bank explaining why he was late on a house payment while dropping off his jacked up 4x4 with a big Yeti in the back. Lol, priorities.

I was about ready to buy one but decided to see if the nicer Coleman was worth saving money for. It was like $90 compared to the Yetis at $300, and it was definitely worth it. It's one of the steel-belted coolers with the lock on it and that bugger kept ice frozen for four days on a camping trip earlier in the summer! What more could I ask for? I never go on two-week long camping trips, so the max I would ever need to keep something cold is like 4-5 days, maybe a week tops. No way I would spend money on one of those Yetis after buying this thing...

There is a review online where a guy had a bunch of diffrent coolers ,he put beer and ice (just the essentials) in each cooler and recorded which one held ice the longest . He said the Coleman extreme held ice the longest.

whenever I go on camps or floats, the main office has an ice bag machine so I have no use for a cooler to keep ice weeks at a time.
It's one of the latest status symbols I guess.

I bought my wife a Yeti roadie 20 for $250 bucks and it keeps beer super cold and ice lasts longer than the Coleman extreme it replaced.

The Yeti coolers will keep ice cold all day long in the bed of a pickup truck in direct sunlight in the middle of summer in Midland, Texas. A lot of people who work in the field use these coolers because they work better then anything else.

Too expensive for me but everyone I know who has one swears by them.

If you are too tight to spend the money on one then you will never know how much better they actually do work. Kinda like new pickup trucks.

I heard the same claims by fisherman who are out on the ocean for long periods of time. No question they are bad ass. But for 90% of the cooler buying public, maybe 95%, they are overkill imo.
I guess many things in life are.

My wife got me one. I love it. That being said, I don't think I would have ever went out and bought it. I don't think it's that much superior in the ice department (though it is awesome). The thing I like about it when compared to cheapo coolers is the durability. It's just flat out durable. It can handle anything you can throw at it. I have a stack of old cheap coolers with broken hinges on the lids that all broke quickly. Plus, the lids on the cheap ones tend to warp.

Is it worth the money? Probably not. Is it awesome? Absolutely.

I bought one of the $250 ones at Gander Mountain and got a gift card for $50 for Gander, best cooler I've ever owned and like stated abouve its hands down the toughest cooler I've ever had. I don't think I could part with the money for a big one but I may someday

I have a walmart cooler and the ice melts in an hour and the damn door won't stay open without you holding it open. . . Makes me pissed off just thinking about it. . . First world problems I guess.

I couldn't justify buying one of the Yeti coolers. I keep wondering how long it will be before a competitor knocks it off.

They are on it. I have a buddy that got a K2 and it's nice. I don't like the latching on it as much, but it's an awesome. cooler. The Pelican also looks to be a tough cooler, as well.

They are tough and take a beating. Sure, they're expensive, but I haven't had to replace my cooler each year, like I do with those Coleman ones. Plus, you can use dry ice in these and they don't crack. They'll actually freeze a beer.


The tumblers and can holders are equally as awesome.


Most people that say that they are 'overpriced junk' are jealous idiots.

This. There's a Yeti in almost every truck out here for good reason. I keep cold drinks in mine and it's invaluable during the summer. Even once the ice is melted it'll keep things pretty cool for several more days. When it's 100* out and you only get to go to town every 10 days or so the Yeti makes a big difference.

Yeti makes a good product. I traded a gun for cash and a yeti 65 to try it out. Durable cooler, but performs the same as a cheap cooler with rock salt and ice. The directions even tell you to pre cool your cooler for prep. The durability stands out and makes this cooler worth it. The cups are great, but probably not worth the money because the lids are a joke. Durability is what you are paying for with all their products.

I picked a yeti up 10 years ago $300.00. No problems. Heavy, has a seat cushion on it. Throw 15lb Coho, Sockeye salmon in it when I go fishing. Still good as new.

I never really paid much attention to coolers honestly but now I think I'm going to have to go buy one Laughing . I take a cooler to work everyday, by the end of the day I have "cool" water at best in the bottom of the cooler and far from frosty drinks. I like how they have a real seal.

We used to do some long camping trips and needed to keep stuff cold for 7-10 days at a time. We had 2 coolers, both lined with aluminum foil tape (that's used on heater vents) In one we would put a slab of dry ice in the bottom and then fill it with quart size frozen water bottles. The bottles were rotated into the "food and beer" cooler to keep it cold, and then used as drinking water when they melted. It worked good and none of the food got wet from sitting in water. Keeping them in the shade was mandatory though. I wonder how long dry ice and frozen water bottles would last in one of those ? I'm guessing a long time. Seems like a lot of cheese for a cooler but shit if I take the old lady out for mexican food and a movie it's freakin 80 bucks, seems like a deal compared to that lol

Is there a way to fasten them to your truck? That's my only concern with something like that is it would be a perfect theft item. I wish they would build in a few metal hoops to run a cable lock through.

Yes, they have a slot through them so that you can attach a cable. Yeti makes one that has a lock on it. Plus, under the lids they all have places to put straps. It's nice when riding atv's...you can open and close the lid, while not having to mess with the straps.
