I'm not sure I read this right, but did some of this classified information get intercepted on Twitter? And if so , what the hell are these so- called officials doing floating this kind of info over un-secured lines. I'll now wait on the usual folks to set me straight.. Thanks

Don't worry about it. The country is safe because they've taken down some of the torrent sites.

Were they supposed to be secure communications?
Was any of it classified?

I'm not sure if *this* leak was classified but I know the *last* leak was classified. From what I have heard the information is at least "sensitive" which is a level below secret.

They should prosecute the son of a bitch and, if he has revealed classified information that deals with confidential discussions between diplomatic parties, he should be thrown in prison for the rest of his life. Revealing inconvenient secrets about wars is one thing, but if our State Department can't communicate with other countries, we're in deep trouble.

This POS is an attention whore. If it was up to me, he'd get nightly attention from the entire cell block.

One example:
Pfc. Bradley Manning is accused of leaking diplomatic cables and other classified documents to WikiLeaks.

...and HOW TH'FUCK

...& WHEN TH'FUCK

...& WHY TH'FUCK did we:

1. Get so lax with...
2. Stop Compartmentalising...
3. Start disseminating...

CLASSIFIED F'CKIN' DATA?

How did it get out there and why/how did the DOD, DOS, DOE, NSA...etc. "give up control" of said data?

There was a time when...ah...never-mind...

It is my understanding that it is illegal to simply possess classified information that you are not cleared for and have a need to know. So, I want to know why they have not shut down the site? Seems simple enough to me. The only thing I can come up with is that they are terrified of the press that doing it would cause.
11/29/2010 2:26pm
By the governments actions I would say they want the information out there.

You 1st have to answer the Who/Whom question regarding the offenders' Nationality and Locale.

For instance: Are you implying that we should go out and arrest a Chinese National that possosses our Classified Data? If so, when do we start?

Yes, I'm am a smart-ass.

But, the Aussie that owns Wikileak and his culpability is in question; therefore, the Q still stands.

Then there's the culpability of the various department heads that are, ultimately, responsibile for the "Security" of their data, etc.

Or...we can jus' play along with the finger pointing and media-frenzy.

As I said, "Yes!"...I am a smart-ass!

Hasn't the classic argument against homosexuals in the military been that they are a security risk?

It started years ago, when the government decided to outsource most of it's intelligence work. The company i work for has over 30,000 employees in DC, most with TS/SCI + poly clearance. That is just one company. There is a backlog of 500,000 people getting their top secret clearance. There's bound to be a bunch of people willing to give up the info they have access to.

A database guy or share point developer could access and download gigs of data within minutes.

wikileaks provided a bunch of papers from countries around the world ,access to the files before they released it on the website . shutting down the website would do nothing , the cat was out of the bag long before it went online .

If this is the only way to get a transparent government then I'm all for it.

The leaks about the coup in I think it was Ecuador in 2009 are pretty telling about US involvement. Maybe we'll finally learn the truth behind some of the lies about the US screwing around with other nation's politics.

Scary. Jus' Scary.

There was a time, not so long ago, when clearances beyond TS were extremely limited in scope & distribution.

What a clustterfuck. Very telling.

No, it's pretty much consistently been insecure Catholics bending over backwards in order to create cheap excuses for bigotry and tighten their slowly loosening stranglehold on American government.
