If someone, drunk or sober, is beating the crap out of you in a fight you didn't start, and you're not capable of defending yourself (obviously, as if you were capable, they wouldn't be beating the crap out of you), which is the most desired outcome for you:

a) You happen to be armed and are able to shoot the person, which ends the beating.

b) They beat you until they're good and finished, which may lead to you going to the hospital at best, and dying at worst.


Now, I don't want arguing points one way or the other, just a simple answer with either a or b.

In the scenario you provided, I don't have an issue with shooting someone actually. But, if you are drunk, expect the cops to crawl up your butt.
