Okay guys. I've got an account with AT&T. I've been with them for years. I got two phones for me and the wife. Now, I need two more and the ones I have are worn out. We've always gone with just basic phones for calling only and used the family share plan for minutes.

What's the best route for me to go from two basic phones to four phones? I want to get all new phones and I want them to all at least be text capable. I might even want to get an internet capable phone (I-phone???) for myself to do simple surfing and internet searches on.

I've heard good things about letstalk.com but never have used them. Should I just go to the kiosk and say "I want four new phones and plunk down the $500 they want?

you should be able to negotiate a pretty good deal on that. Check around. Unfortunately, you may have to change carrier to get it.

But, you can always use the "I can get x phones and plan from ___" routine and see if they will match.

I have AT&T

I pay for five phones including three IPhones, were on a family plan and I forget how many minutes we have each month. For $30 we have unlimited texting, and all in my bill is normally around $260-$270 not all that bad for 3 iphones and two other lines. I would go to an ATT store and talk with them, they are pretty good at working with you.

I want to be able to text, check up on Vital and my email and do yellowpages searches mostly with internet. Is the I-phone a good choice for that or should I go more towards the blackberries?

IPhone and don't look back. One of the IPhones is for my Mom, and she has no problem using it. If she can make it work, anyone can.

I switched from Alltel to AT&T last November. We have two iPhones and two made by Pantech. Wife and I have internet on ours. Kids phones are internet capable but we turned it off and don't pay for it. We have 1400 shared minutes per month and never use them all. We will probably reduce the number of minutes in the near future. For $30 we all four have unlimited texting. Our monthly bill is around $180-$200/mo. As for your question about the iPhone. I don't think anything compares to it in terms of internet browsing. I really like my iPhone.

If you don't go with an iPhone...check with Radio Shack. They typically have a few different carriers and I just got my son a "palm". Signed the contract and received a card for $50.00. Didn't cost a penny, and it's only $9.99 since it was added to one of my accounts.

The ATT store next door wanted $29.99 and I would have gotten a $50.00 card in 4-6 weeks....for the SAME phone.

If you look on AT&T's website in the sales area, you can get refurb iPhones for half price or so

I've chickened out multiple times. I'll walk into the store totally convinced I'll leave with a MAC.

Then I think about how often I end up buying computers because I physically damage them , and end up leaving with the 800 dollar HP special.

they let you turn off the internet?

My razor has limited internet capabilities, but the button is still on the menu. I don't have data services, but if I click that damn button, it starts logging on and they'll charge me a flat rate for use.

I asked to turn off the capability, but they said I'd have to turn off texting to do what I wanted.

Letstalk dot com is the best cell phone site on the web.

However I checked it about a year ago and I didn't see the iPhone on there. Maybe they have it now.

In any case they have deals on there that most cell phone employees don't even know about.

I have used letstalk.com for everyone of my cell phone purchases.
