Careers?

I am currently active duty Army MOS 12P stationed in DC. I dreamed of being a mechanic in my high school days as I was lucky enough to have an awesome Dad who taught me how to rebuild 2 stroke engines when I was growing up. He always made me hang around when he was working on my bikes. Unfortunately reality set in and college didn't go so well. Ended up getting into electrical work for awhile and then joined the Army at age 26. Hit 12 years this June.

I.T.

International logistics now for almost 4 years. Sitting on my ass by the computer all day. Studied economics, worked in concrete construction for 10 years.

I work in a tissue processing lab, mostly cleaning surgical tools and transferring tissue to different stages of its process.

I own a timber joinery company, but before that i worked in the motorcycle industry here for 20 years, started in a shop, went to a gear distributor, then back to a shop as parts, then brought the shop with my brother and law, sold that and after a while travelling and working overseas came back and worked for the kawasaki distributor here as a dealer rep for a while, then decided i needed a change and got out of the industry, brought into another business,

College, Informatics/Business intelligence. So we'll see where that takes me

Natural gas public utility management. Specifically infrastructure replacement program management, and lateral launch sewer inspection contractor management in relation to gas projects.

I have contractor oversight for the entire state of Michigan, with over 30 million dollars of contracts to manage amongst 10+ contractors.

I dropped out of college my senior year (2013) to take a job at this company as a union operator, installing large project gas main (2-25 mile projects) in inner cities. I directional drilled main for a year, then ran my own crew and managed jobs as a foreman before I took the promotion to management.

I'm 12 credits short of my Bachelors in Molecular Biology with a minor in Organic Chemistry

I.T. I design systems that manage and protect data. I highly recommend this career for younger folks. Very good pay, and you will never be bored. Lots,of travel too if you want. Also, we need you, the average age for my position (Systems Engineer) is 40 years old. There are lots,of opportunities in cities around the U.S.A., as well as Eurpoe and Australia.

I am a motorcycle mechanic currently on medical leave. Might have to change career paths if i cannot get the sciatica pain under control. As twisting and bending trigers it fearcly to where i cannot walk.

I own my own business making teeth.

1976 to 2005 motorcycle industry, before/during/after college. Twenty of those years with professional racing. Stints in defense contracting, now with the oil industry. Still talk motorcycle with somebody, somewhere, every day.

Did accounting for 20, then a motorcycle mechanic for 10 retired in 05, came out of retirement back in March after 11 years off and I'm currently a mechanic at the same shop again

18 years plastic injection mold builder ,last 2 years as die maker for Ford working on exterior body panel dies.

I grew up in a construction family. I would spend my summers with my Dad building spec houses in Martinsburg, WV. When I graduated, my family got out of the business and I went ahead and got my contractors license. I was once the youngest general contractor in the state of WV. I did that full time until I was around 25.
Other jobs I have had include working on drilling rigs. Every boy worth his salt in WV has worked on a drilling rig at some point in their life. I was able to become a derrick hand. I also worked on pipelines through the laborers union. That was one of the best jobs I ever had as far as working for someone else. I also worked as a welder in a few chemical plants. That job really sucked.
My best gig was making furniture. My family drifted from construction to furniture manufacturing. Until 2007 we manufactured here in WV, selling about 4000 pieces a year. Now days, I manufacture in Indonesia and warehouse in High Point, NC. Indonesia is a good fit because that is where our lumber is sourced. The furniture business only requires me to travel to Indonesia once a year at most. I have very good people on the ground there. The business environment for being in the furniture industry is also terrible right now. It is very risky that you will have to sit on large inventories for extended amounts of time. That sucks!

I have since gotten married and my wife is Indonesian. I have been looking for a business that would require us to travel a little more than once a year and make it easier for her to go visit her family. So I started a distribution company that deals with wastewater treatment. I am going on my first trade mission with these products to Singapore August 1st and I hope we are able to garner some business relations. I will also be stopping in Indonesia for 17 days and hope to be able to work through my existing contacts that might lead to business. www.dwnline.com

Aside from that, I also broker North American hardwoods and sell sawdust and chips for another family business. I have a lot on my plate. lol

Back in college (dropped out during my last year at economics), changed school a while back and have a year left on my engineering degree in land surveying. Been in aviation the last 10 years. Closest I've worked to moto is ATV maintenance as a side gig in high school. I spent most of the time working on my own bike.

Best job I had was ups. Not sure why i quit.

Working in reliability at a Chemours/Dupont onsite waste water treatment plant this summer.

Finishing up my BS in mechanical engineering and starting my MS in fall.

I work for a decent size Powersports dealer. I've done a little of everything here, currently doing F&I and Sales. Most of my time these days is spent going over plans for our upcoming expansion, so there's no shortage of stuff to do at the moment.

I'm the Marketing Manager for here, but the place practically sells itself without much help.

Welder for the past 20 years.

I am a full time student getting my Bachelors in Science for General biology track. I'm graduating this year, and currently have two jobs. I work for a pond management company during the week(what I've always wanted to do) and work at a car wash on weekends for the extra money. My goal has always been fisheries management, and after volunteering at a fish hatchery for 7 months they noticed my work ethic and got me in touch with Georgia plantations solutions. Which is the pond management company I currently working for.

Guess I kind of lucked in to mine not having many skills outside of 'stay on the gas a little longer than the guy next to you'. Figuring life out when motocross was supposed to be 'it', is some scary shite.

Worked for my Dad's pest control business for a bit, but wasn't exactly paid as it was considered 'experience'. Went from that to a family owned moto dealer in 06 as a porter back in Vegas. Moved to shipping/receiving, and then up to the parts counter after a few years. Got laid off during the recession, and kind of bounced around between a little of this and a little of that. After I moved to Oregon in 2011 I was in an 'any job will do', type situation. Applied everywhere, and finally got a call back from a car dealership to work in parts. Knew jack shit about the industry when I started and after 4 years was in a position to run the department before things went a different way. Currently working for a BMW dealer while keeping my fingers crossed this job for the city pulls through.
