I cant believe Apple customer support.

My 2 1/2 year old Macbook Pro recently started shutting down on its own while on battery power (only like 30 mins into using the battery).

I go online and find out that they have a "bulging battery" problem. Basically the battery gets old and explodes.

So I call up Apple Care. Not only do I talk to somebody that speaks perfect English and is polite, but I am only on the phone for about 3 mins. Talk about lack of care for me - they wanted to get the call over and done with in as little time as possible.

Turns out they sent me a new battery and I got it in 2 days for free.

Those Apple products really are shitty. They just have the market of stupid people in this country by the balls and the flocks of people just buy whatever is thrown towards them in the right manner.

I should have gotten a Dell instead.

LOL. Yeah, Apple customer service seems good. Kind of nice, because it's not something you get very often with these big electronics companies. I bought an Ipod from their website last year, and the price dropped within a couple of days. I called them up, also spoke with somebody who spoke perfect English, and they credited my card to equal the new price, and the call was quick. Amazing.

Glad I took my sarcasm pill an hour ago, otherwise I would have been confused by that post!

They sent me a new video card two years into my G5 ownership too.

I've never bought a warranty from them. They've always replaced anything that went wrong within the first three years (A power supply in an old quadra and the above mentioned video card).

When you spend an extra grand for a 1 dollar battery, you've paid for 1000 batteries, already included.

Come again? If I got a Dell or HP laptop that was comparable to my mac, it would have cost the same amount of money.

I'll stick to my mac with no viruses, no lag, quick start up, no bullshit, and the best customer service in the computer world.

It's funny you mention this. I was using two 10 year old Dell Latitudes all night tonight without a hitch. They are the brains for our hillclimb. Of course they're running Linux and not Windows so they actually stayed up all night without rebooting for no explained reason. Wink

My kid's laptop started exhibiting some odd behavior. He took it to the local Apple store. They sent it back to repair in Cali, and the factory not only diagnosed the problem to a bad fan, but also upgraded his main board for free. His laptop's 3 months past warranty and they did this anyway.

The Apple store is a great resource setting things up and getting things running. I've used them for my iPhone, the kid's iPods, my iMac, and his laptop.

This thread is BS. According to Mac users Macs never have any problems nor ever break.
