After inventing the snowmobile in 1968 with the Ski-Doo and creating the modern personal watercraft in 1988 with its Sea-Doo, Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) has now taken to the streets. BRP's Can-Am Spyder is a three-wheeler that is neither motorcycle nor sports car, but an intriguing blend of both. First launched in select markets, the Spyder is now available in 35 states. With its unique blend of performance, safety and open-air thrills, it might be the start of something fun.

I have seen a few running around here in Colorado Springs . I was at Apex putting up flyers for my GP race this morning and there was one in the lot. Looks kinda scary to me .

Hmm... how long have these been out now? spacerider, you just wake up from a comma? Smile

Two years ago I was behind one of these sleds on the PCH just south of Big Sur... I don't know about them... Interesting I will say.... What's the fun of carving a road when you can't lay over?

My dad is obsessed with those Spyders. He is always talking about it when me comes back from the bike shop or if he sees one around town.

He is into it because it is different than a street bike. I want to try one, but I'm not into it as my dad is.

BTW...it actually has a computer that controls the 'lean' the bike has in the corners. It's not much of a lean, but enough to make it safe at speeds.

I don't know, they look like fun. I'd much sooner get one of those than a 'smart' car.

Looks hard to wheelie.............. Normally I cant have too much front brake. But on that I think Id want a big ass back brake and some smaller rotors up front. Other wise that thing will be a 3 wheeled Trebuchet'(sp?)

spacerider... again, just messing with ya! Those things would be a kick in the ass. The shop I worked at in Texas has one on the showroom and I know they won't move it.

A guy on my street has one. He looks like an idiot riding it around. About as stupid as VW powered trikes.
