Does anyone have a photo of those White leather alpinestars boots with the Pink / yellow / green shapes randomly placed all over the boot? Maybe from the late 80s early 90s? Ive been searching but cant find a picture.

Guy B - probably remembers they made some clipless MTB shoes that had the same pattern. and FOX had some MTB shoes made by alpinestars in the same exact style!

If I'm not mistaken, the color scheme name of the old Alpinestars with the geometric shapes on it was called the "wild".

If I wore a size 8, I'd be all over those tech 7s!

Who's the rider in the pic?
I had these boots in 91, except mine were blue on the front not green. I remember trying to clean them without ruining the coloured shapes.....the pattern was printed on and it was easy to rub it off if you srcubbed them too hard.
I have a picture somewhere with me riding in them but it's black & white unfortunately.

Those Tech 7's were horrible in those days. The plastic armor on the inside of the foot always came undone at the top near the instep and would snag horribly on the bike and also fill with mud between the plastic and the leather.

I had the MSR System-6 boots in those days which were made by Alipnestars and were basically Tech-7 clones. The only difference was the MSR's had the plastic wrap all the way up and over the instep so it didn't come loose.

Still, after I got SG-10's I could never wear the Alpinestars anymore. The A-stars soles are so soft and floppy it feels like wearing flip flops after you get used to the stiff soles of the Gaerne's.

I gave a pair of those away about a year ago to a less fortunate rider.
