Python alarm......
tore down the Expo booth and loaded in the box van in 1.5 hours.....drove about 10 minutes when it hits me....I havent eatten anything and am exhausted. Stopped into Dennys for a bite to eat and since I was driving into a snow/ice storm anyway..booked a hotel. Spend the night and when I go to leave the truck battery isnt liking the 20's this morning. Asked one person in the parking lot for a jump but no cables. Remembered that the generator has its own battery and I had removed a really long big cable when working on the generator...and tossed it in the tool box. 5 minutes have the cable run from generator to the truck battery....fire up the genny and hit the remote start.....truck fires up but I notice a different faint sound over the generator and truck but it goes away while removing the cable. hop in truck and head south for about 75 miles and stop for gas....figured the battery should be charged by now and turn it off and pull the key out of the ignition....dash dummy lights come .... but the motor is still running .. put the key back in and let it keep running while I fill it up. Drive 1/2 way through KY and stop for lunch. I had played with the python alarm setting and disabling it a couple times while driving gut feeling thought it might have something to do with it. After eating......started does nothing.
Poped on line and found a local persone who works on the python alarms....but he does not do come to you.....would need to be towed to him. He tried to walk me through the reset of the alarm but still nothing. I was in the SX/MX racer Vonlinger area of KY so I called Louie to see if he knew someone who could come check it out. He gave me the name of a local Ford dealer but they did not do mobile work...but they gave me the number for a fleet service company. Called them and they rolled in at 4 .... poped in a new battery but still no start...he starts checking the wiring and it apears the alarm somehow has turned off the starting system. eventually he tries it bump the starter using jumper cables to just get it started....starter is shot....he gets one and popes it in but the switches still do nothing...I had read on line about this being a anti theft thing....I just wanted to get home so he jumps it with a screw driver.....Paid them $636 (was thinking $800-900) and on my way at 9PM but I can not turn it off or I would need to jump it like he did...left it running and rolled into the bunk about midnight for a 3 hour nap ...rolled into home at 6AM and shut it down.
Anyone know how to reprogram a python alarm?
