i ride an '06...... one friend as well as another who works at the shop are claiming i used 10w40 and the service manual says 10w30..... i wasnt able to ride for over a year, so i havent serviced my bike in some time now..... getting her going again, and due to being out of it for awhile, i am driving myself nuts trying to think of what i used to run....i use GN4 and HP4...... i know that the people on here would probably know best..... thank you for the help.... i want to go riding tomorrow so bad.
As for your question I've been running HP4 10-40 w/ moly for the engine (silver bottle) and GN4 10-40 (black bottle) for the tranny and have NEVER had an issue not even valves IMO thats the best combo. Very importand MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT PUT THE MOLY IN THE TRANNY SIDE IT WILL RUIN YOUR CLUTCH.
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Run 10W-40 in it. Your choice on GN or HP. The GN4 is their standard fossil oil. The HP4 is full synthetic. The HP4M should only be used in the engine side. The moly is said to make the clutches slip.
I use HP4M on the engine side and HP4 on the tranny side. Both 10W-40.
