reeds style hasnt changed much, nor did the track look more technical in 2004. would love to know how much faster he his on a 2014 450 vs 2004 yz250, im guessing 1.5 seconds.

First 250 win was In Charlotte April 19, 1997. His last win (SX) was May 1, 2010. That is 13 years. INSANE!

Now Reeds first 250SX win was January 4,2003. His latest win was February 1, 2014 II years. Two SX titles and 43 SX wins and counting.

I dunno dude, there were a few things in that track that were technical. The big over/under jump down or inside table to table... and the big whoops with the turn double, small dragon into the next whoops and triple out... all that was pretty technical.

Go watch any of the 2003 races too... So much slower because everything was so much peakier... Matthes/Weege/JT were talking about this very subject based on Reeds A2 comments – Yeah 4 strokes are faster but generally 10 seconds a lap... Almost all the laptimes back then were 60 seconds... a lot of them now are 50s. That is not just bike, that's track too for sure. The obstacles are lower and flatter and definitely more rhythm based.

I think they were more tech. for sure, and I am a two stroke fan for life BUT...

No way you would have saw a smoker do three then the quad that JS7 was doing on Saturday night.

Yeah definitely not!

I don't think it's better to do that tho... The consequences right now at the speeds they go are almost always reflected in the injury list year after year.

Slower and more technical riders can get jacked just as bad though...especially with a four stroke chasing them in a crash.

i see that in most of the you tube vids. more technical in the past. but that particular track didnt come across to me that way.

Did you see KW, Le Cobra and CR all miss that triple out of the whoops a couple times? Or struggling to clean through the whoops, turn double and small-big-small? It was definitely pretty tech. Lots of little things to make time.

I loved that gear from San Diego 05. Crazy to think they lapped up to 3rd place. The tracks were so much different then as well.

It is definitely impressive Reed's career is still at its peak since then.
