What's the highest speed a KTM 500 EXC-F can sit at without being problematic?

Head to Alice Springs over the Queens Birthday long weekend, head to Finke, wait for Toby to get in at the end of day one and ask him what his top speed was and there will lay your answer.

My '08 model with stock gearing had to be going 50+ mph to change into 6th gear. Way tall gearing. I never approached top speed on the thing. A guy with the same year model with motard wheels & tires told me with a straight face he'd seen 115 mph in fifth gear on his. I took a tooth off the front of mine and never felt like 65 was hurting it.

My dad has the six days 500, and cruising at 70 on a county highway was decent. But real talk I tucked down and hit 115 in sixth and she was still climbing- but I shut it down. No thanks.

I've got a close friend that commutes one hr each day at 75 mph.
Been doing it for over a year, and no problems.
Then on weekends we burn up the trails.
We've not had one issue.

Mine with Baja gearing does a very comfortable cruising 80-85 mph. I usually keep it around 60-70 though on highway sections

Edit... Sorry I'm on a 525,not 500
