Discuss, was he really better? I'm not a huge Shaheen fan, but Emig and RC really make the broadcast great.
I would trade Eckman for RC and Emig any day, even if the evil added is Shaheen, I really think Ralph has evolved, and can only get better?
A lot better than The guy doing the opening song!

From what I hear, Art was a stat master. He was good with throwing in stats, but he probably had a cheat sheet.
RC is awesome. Emig is good too, I just wish he would work on his basic grammar. "He has came here today and really put on a good race."

Once i was in the media booth at Atlanta Supercross and the elevator opened and he walked in. I was playing it cool but I was like "holy shit!" Probably would have stuttered myself if we spoke.
Bailey and Art were a great duo.
I always liked how he told a story, and in a sense with his stories it always seemed like he had great respect for the riders. He also had such a serious tone /voice....it sounded very professional.
Art did also have his Artism's....at times.
But all in all, I think he was great for the sport.
And teamed up with DB,they were a dream team.
Edit: Here is a classic Art Bar 2 Bar read.
I always loved the way he worded stuff.

To answer the question I think Art and David were a great combo "but" that's a big part due to David - he's just naturally a very very good commentator. Paul Malin does a good job in the GPs imo but again, the couple times he's had David in... absolutely fantastic. Ralph is fine imo, I don't know why people get so worked up about him.
hey I'm old school..whatca gonna do nowadays..just learn to adjust.
I like Emig and RC.....they've been there, done that.
