Got word yesterday...... A vet only (30 and up) race is brewing for February 11/12 weekend at TNT motorsports in Chester SC about an hour south of Charlotte on 77........ Ike Dejager will be running the show. Will be a 4 or 5 race series spread out over Feb- April ....... Will post more details when I get them.

Word is there will be at least 2 divisions in each age class something like C/B & A but if there is enough that show up could be divided into C, B A

Does that place even have a starting gate? I never noticed it.

Hope they put some work into the track otherwise it will be blue groove like it has been every time I have visited.

I'd be interested. My 30th birthday is on Feb. 4th so the 11th/12th weekend would be perfect. I'll keep an eye out for more details, thanks.

Ike said he was going to rip it 8-10 inches deep.....plan is to be on the top (tween) track and they are going to add to it. Start will be made where the oval is.

We at Twist and Hold and 2020 Racing Academy are introducing a “Senior Race Series” on a natural terrain track at TNT Motorsports Park, Chester, SC that is designed for seniors on an “Old Style” Motocross track. The fun part is that this event is for seniors only.
There is no pressure, stress or burden as practice starts at noon and racing at 1 pm. The very first or initial race of the “Senior Race Series” will be on Sunday, February 12, 2012, as mentioned at TNT Motorsports Park, Chester, SC.
The good news is that the “Senior Race Series” will be a monthly event, allowing the senior motocross riders fun in the saddle, at least once a month.
On race day we will have the following classes:
+35 Beginners +35 Experienced
+40 Beginners +40 Experienced
+45 Beginners +45 Experienced
+50 Beginners +50 Experienced
+55 Beginners +55 Experienced

Entry fees will be $25.00 per Class. You can enter online at www.2020racingacademy.com as no entries will be accepted on raceday.
Trophies will be awarded for each class.
This is an opportunity or an occasion for us seniors to enjoy maybe own that day that “Brings Back the Past”.

Which is the tween track? If its the one on the right as you drive in, closest to the building where the store is? If I hope they put some bigger jumps into it. That track is zero challenge and pretty short.

Also, pre-entry only? Come on now.

And classes for age 35+ only, that eliminates anyone under the age of 40 who wants to race at least 2 classes. Anyone younger than 40 can race one class. I thought most vet races had +25, +30, +35....

You gotta figure the younger vets want to race more classes. Here only the older vets get to race more classes.

Lastly, what will the format be? And how long will the motos be?

NESC, but I come to rock hill in the winters and stay at my sisters house for 3 or 4 days at a time.

Ive been to TNT a bunch to just ride, getting cleared from a shoulder surgery at the end of Jan and was actually interested in hitting this up, especially if they rip and water that hardpack to make some nice ruts.

I questioned them about not offering 25+ & 30+ classes before posting this but they said nope. Fewer classes = longer races. I am not crazy about the pre enter only. Also not sure how they plan on getting practice done in 1 hour and 4 hours to complete 20 motos.

I personally really like that track....its tight and challenging......not just WFO with long straights.

Not sure of the exact how or where details but they are going to add to the track and disc it deep.

Love the idea, same reason I love going to mammoth east so much.
Natural Track, Long Motos are so fun.
No 25 or 30 puts me out though.

Why not stagger start the two divisions in each age class to free up some time?

I hate to be Debbie Downer but this race series has fail witten all over it. The 1 hour practice will work because there won't be anyone there. Seems like the promoter already has kill written on the series with the whole fewer classes=shorter race's attitude and sorry but the pre-entry will not work. What's going to happen when 10 or so guys show up to race that didn't "pre-enter" will they be allowed to race or told to go pound sand? When is the deadline for pre-entry? Alot of times guys will not decide until the last minute to go or didn't know about it until getting there to ride? I hope they've thought about all of this. Also will they be charging the guys who race to ride the other tracks after the race is over? I took my nephew over for the kids race and riding the other weekend and was promptly hit with a "give me $10 more dollars or he won't be able to continue to ride" after the race was over, WTF. I really do hope it works out though and maybe it will lead to more race's (and classes) in the future. Lumpy790, this rant is in no way directed at you and thanks for keeping us informed.

Jamey I agree with a lot of what you have said and have already communicated with them about it.

While I like the idea of sleeping in on race day I don't know how they can get everything done in only 5 hours. I'm afraid practice needs to start at 9

As for the rest of the day.....seems like comparing Apples and oranges

So this is the track they are going to be racing on?

(the first track he rides) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOiuYZLdOSI

If so I wouldn't waste a trip out there unless you live within an hour of the place. They would have to do some mad work to it to make it fun to race on. Or even ride for that matter. Why don't they just do it on their main track? That would call for some better racing and riding.

I don't want to be a debbie downer either...I do like the facility and the fact that its the only place around charlotte thats open during the week but it does seem like this event is going to fail. Just my opinion.

I'll agree whats the deal with the series?

Ok just checked the website and it still says Feb 12th, +35 up and it's going to be on the small track with pre-entry required. I'm still shaking my head thinking is this guy serious!

If the weather is good, I will be in Rock Hill. I wont be racing as I'm not old enough. Too bad, would have been good to burn some motos and then head back to mass that night.

Again, pre-entry and no 25 and 30 age group is the promoter shooting himself in the foot.

Perhaps you should clarify that the bad chack you are talking about was a different promoter, at a different track, and is no way related to this one, right?

Anyone under 40 is not really a Vet.....

I never said it was the same promoter, just sounds way to familiar.

From what I'm reading here and there I'm not even sure if it pays cahs or check.

Update for you guys. Went to TNT on Wednesday and every track was too muddy to ride except for the intermediate track that they plan on racing on so I spent the afternoon spinning laps on it. This was the first time I really rode that track and believe me these are going to be some short race's.
