Offseason-boredom struck me, so I decided to make a list out of current and past GP-tracks that are "GP-worthy" (trackwise, I'm not talking about accomodation). In an ideal world (hence the title of this thread), they would be in some kind of "YS-database", from which the calendar can be compiled every year. Some of them are man-made, because that's a path that the GP-world has taken that won't disappear anymore, so I decided to let some of them in. I'm not sure if all of them stil exist or not, feel free to comment / improve.

I've split them up per continent.

America
Argentina: Neuquén
Brazil: Belo Horizonte / Beto Carrero / Indaiatuba
Canada: Gopher Dunes
Mexico: León
USA: Budds Creek / Glen Helen / RedBud / Washougal / WW Ranch
Venezuela: Maracay

Asia & Oceania
Australia: Broadford / Toowoomba
China: Shanghai
Indonesia: Semarang
Japan: Sugo
Thailand: Si Racha

Europe
Austria: Schwanenstadt / Sittendorf
Belgium: Genk / Lommel
Bulgaria: Sevlievo
Czech Republic: Jinín / Loket
Denmark: Randers
Finland: Hyvinkää / Vantaa
France: Castelnau-de-Lévis / Ernée / Iffendic / Pernes-les-Fontaines / Saint-Jean-d'Angély / Villars-sous-Écot
Germany: Gaildorf / Reisersberg / Teutschenthal
Great Britain: Foxhill / Isle of Wight / Matchams Park / Matterley Basin
Greece: Megalopolis
Hungary: Kaposvár
Ireland: Cork / Killinchy
Italy: Castiglione del Lago / Maggiora / Mantova / Montevarchi / Ottobiano / Pietramurata
Latvia: Ķegums
Luxembourg: Folkendange
Netherlands: Lierop / Rhenen / Valkenswaard
Northern Ireland: Ballykelly / Desertmartin
Poland: Gdynia
Portugal: Águeda
Russia: Orlyonok
Slovakia: Sverepec
Spain: Bellpuig / Osuna / Talavera de la Reina
Sweden: Uddevalla
Switzerland: Frauenfeld-Gachnang / Payerne / Roggenburg

I was also thinking about times when there were at least 7 or 8 different brands. GasGas will be new, and Suzuki will probably return on of the next seasons. It's a shame brands like TM, Aprilia, Husaberg, CCM or WRM disappeared from the scene. Speaking of which, do the last two still exist anyway?

Wasn't TMs plan to return to GPs after their move to the new factory?

Can't see Matchams ever coming back. Think the local council clobbered them with noise restrictions. Looksl ike track is still roughly there on google but that's about it.
Same story with Gore Basin IOW (and most other tracks in the UK!)

The CMM experiment never went to production. they still produce road bikes in various shapes!

Foxhill is worn out now, would need some major investment now to get the track back to GP level. I always loved going to watch at Foxhill but its not what it was. i never really liked Matchams and the Isle of Wight is a pain to get to

For Canada I'd add Walton Raceway because it's a natural terrain track and Wild Rose MX Park in Calgary for its unique setting.

I’m sorry but some of this tracks aren’t suitable for a mondial event, like ottobiano has shown.

Can we talk about utopia optics and what happened to them. Every person that’s clicked on this thread is thinking it.

I rode there last year and while the layout is amazing, the surface is just awful. Like you say, it needs some investment.
